25.01.2022 A VERY HIGH fire danger rating has been issued for the Mid-Western Regional Council area tomorrow, Saturday 28 November. This also means all permits are suspend...ed from midnight tonight. The weather this weekend is going to be hot and windy, do not be a risk to yourself, your neighbours or your community by lighting a fire tomorrow. 24.01.2022 If there is a fire in Clandulla or surrounding areas you will find its alert level on the NSW RFS website, on the radio and in the ‘Fires Near Me’ app. What will be your sign for putting your fire plan into action? #getreadyweekend

24.01.2022 Congratulations to former NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, tonight named the NSW Australian Of The Year. On accepting the award, Shane has... paid special tribute to the volunteers who worked to protect homes and lives last fire season, and particularly those who lost their lives. See more

23.01.2022 You don’t have to live right near the bush to be at risk. Even if your home is a few streets back, you may be at risk. Can you guess the main reason homes are lost to bush fires? #getreadyweekend

22.01.2022 There are 5 actions you can take to prepare a rural property or farm for bush fires: 1. Clear/slash flammable materials around structures like homes or sheds. 2. If the conditions are right and you have... the permits, approvals and skill, conduct a controlled burn. 3. Plough firebreaks around paddock boundaries to prevent the spread of fire. 4. Rotate stock across your property to ensure paddocks are well-grazed. 5. Prepare and maintain sturdy hoses and water pumps in case you need to defend your property. Remember, you need to prepare well beforehand as leaving it to the last minute is too late. Get prepared now at myfireplan.com.au See more

22.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN TOMORROW There has been a Total Fire Ban declared for tomorrow Tuesday 1/12/2020 with a very high fire danger rating! But what does this act...ually mean? There is always a little bit of confusion around what we can and can’t do around Total Fire Bans. When a Total Fire Ban (TOBAN) is declared This means as the public we must; Have NO fires in the open for cooking or camping. NO Welding or grinding to be conducted outdoors, NO barbecues using solid fuel such as wood, charcoal or heat beads. NO lighting fires in the open. Farmers should reconsider any tractor work/slashing on their properties. We can still have gas and electric BBQs as long as it is controlled by an adult and a continuous water source is nearby (e.g garden hose). If you see a fire please report it to 000 Immediately! #preparedforanything #FRNSW #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

21.01.2022 Burning embers can travel kilometres ahead of a bush fire. An ‘ember attack’ is the main cause of house loss in bush fires as they can occur before, during and after the fire front passes. Cleaning gutters and patching holes... or gaps in your roof is an effective way to protect your home from ember attack. 19.01.2022 Fact: Bush fires are unpredictable and in dangerous conditions, you may not get an Emergency Alert message in time. 18.01.2022 On this day last year NSW recorded 17 concurrent Emergency Warnings. Communities in the Blue Mountains, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Walcha, Armidale, Namb...ucca, Kempsey, Tenterfield, and the Mid Coast were all being impacted by fire. At 6pm 94 fires were burning across the state. While the losses on that day were significant they could have been far worse were it not for the extraordinary efforts of firefighters and community members. See more

13.01.2022 A reminder to Clandulla RFB members (and interested others) that we have a training / maintenance day this Saturday morning (17th Oct). Look forward to seeing a strong turnout to help our new members prepare for their BF training.

12.01.2022 Apologies to all, I have incorrectly advised the date for the training / maintenance day. This will be held Saturday 24th October, not the 17th as previously advised.

11.01.2022 A reminder to all members of Clandulla RFB that the first Tuesday of the month meeting (5/01/21) WILL NOT be held in January. 09.01.2022 On this day last year, NSW experienced some of its worst fire danger ever recorded at the time with Catastrophic fire danger forecast across the Sydney, Great...er Hunter and Illawarra/Shoalhaven areas, leading to widespread school closures. Fire danger ratings are an important tool to help you make decisions about what to do and under these conditions, your only safe option is to leave early. You can learn more about the fire danger ratings, and check the rating for your area each day, at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fdr See more

08.01.2022 Keep track of the alert level so you know what you should do. ADVICE level means a fire has started. There is no immediate danger. Stay up to date in case the situation changes. WATCH AND ACT means there is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing and you need to start taking action to protect you and your family. EMERGENCY WARNING is the highest level of Bush Fire Alert. You may be in danger and need to take action immediately. Any delay now puts your life at risk. 08.01.2022 Despite the wet weather, we have so far this fire season seen just over 4000 fires, 26,810 hectares burnt and one home lost. Most of these fires have been in cr...op, grass and stubble. For the same period last fire season there had been more than 9500 fires, over 1000 homes lost and 3.76 million hectares burnt. With still three months left of this fire season it’s important not to become complacent. Remain prepared, maintain your property and most importantly have a plan and know what you will do if threatened by fire. See more

07.01.2022 Our Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook: December 2020 February 2021 is out today, and shows that large parts of NSW west of the Great Dividing Range face ab...ove normal fire conditions, as well as grassland areas of the ACT and into north eastern Victoria. Grass and crop fires are the main concern in these locations for the summer months as the growth dries out in the warmer weather. WA has largely missed out on the rainfall in 2020 and conditions are very dry, with parts of the south and south west coasts expecting above normal fire conditions through summer.
