22.01.2022 Preach Sista! The number on a tag should not depict how we feel about ourselves. Too often I hear people (mostly women, and many post having children) play the 'numbers' game. Often with the scales but also with clothes. Despite most of us knowing that sizes can vary among brands etc we still use it as a measure of our self esteem. But when we focus on achieving health and I mean all aspects of health including emotional, social, spiritual and physical health - we tend to e...njoy our time here on earth more. This also helps with our gut health - as this tends to improve when we are less stressed! #nondiet #nondietapproach #nondietnutritionist #nondietwarrior #nondietnutrition #nondietlife #nondietmentality #nondietnewyear #nondietlifestyle #nondieter #nondietculture #guthealth #guthealthmatters #gutmicrobiome #brisbane nutritionist #nutritionist #gutnutritionist

17.01.2022 I never liked this vegetable growing up - in fact I would say I hated them. Which is rare for me to say that about food! - But as an adult I have grown to accept they are actually not too bad - especially when fresh (my fav way to eat them!). - This vegetable also contains Pectin, a type of prebiotic that nourished beneficial bacteria in our gut. And whey they are well nourished, they produce helpful substances such as Butyrate (which is great for gut health and general wellb...eing!). - - - #brisbanenutritionist #guthealth #gut #guthealthmatters #guthealing #gutfriendly #gutmicrobiome #microbiome #microbiomehealth #microbiomefood #microbiomefriendly #microbiomesupport #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #australiannutritionist #aussienutritionsit See more
11.01.2022 Choosing foods that are as close to how nature intended us to eat them are the best foods for us (and our gut bugs). - That's because they contain vitamins and nutrients that our bodies need for daily functioning. Plus they contain fibre (both prebiotic and not) which is great for our gut health. - So where possible, try to avoid consuming ultra-processed foods containing more than ten ingredients. Particularly ones with loads of numbers and codes on the ingredients list.... - We eat food, not numbers! - - #stayhealthy #eatforhealth #plantbased #plantsrock #naturesfood #guthealth #guthealthmatters See more
05.01.2022 Our gut bugs need fuel too! And what we feed them absolutely matters! - See, wholefoods contains an array of nutrients. Most of these nutrients are broken down and absorbed in our small intestine, thus providing all the bits and bobs we need for the myriad of bodily functions that happen every day! - However, what nutrients aren't absorbed such Fibre or excessive amounts of certain nutrients such as protein can pass into the large intestine and feed our gut bugs. ... - So let's feed them the good stuff (Fibre!). Legumes, wholegrains, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds provide prebiotics and our gut bugs love them! - - #guthealth #guthealthmatters #gutmicrobiome #gutbugs #prebiotics #guthealthforfamilies #gutnutritionist #gutnutrion #nourishyourgut #wholefoods #plants #plantbased See more
