22.01.2022 We have been dreaming and scheming up an Air-based education platform where our Holistic Home Education programs can be delivered as multi-modal, multi-sensory augmented learning experiences. Ochre Eco will be kicking off the first of our Ochre Air Augmented programs with a Permaculture Design course for kids involving hands-on Waldorf-style, STEAM integrated Main Lessons imbued with audio, video, text-based and extra-sensory components throughout the year. This program will... be available for booking soon so reserve your place and make enquires by leaving us a message here or via [email protected] Our vision is for children and families to learn in connection with Nature, Culture and Self unrestricted, wherever they are. To equip children with skills and understanding to forge an authentic life path whatever is going on in the world. Get in touch to discuss your Home Education plans for 2021 with one of our teachers.

14.01.2022 Enjoying a warm and rainy 2.8m high tide today at our magic beach. We created paper boats and wrote messages of gratitude to the Ocean and the Brazilian goddess of the sea Yemanja.

10.01.2022 Solstice weaving from high tide, hibiscus tree-caught wisps of perfect, insanely structured Pandanus fibres. A few metres more cordage and we will have enough for some festive, ceremonial macrame I think! I collected these strands from the lower limbs of a very old and beloved beach hibiscus after a sunrise ceremony on the northern point of the island this morning with my Grandma. I can’t express the reverence I have felt for the planet and toward the potential for human custodianship and community over the past 48 hours. It is such an honour to be able to immerse myself in the ocean surrounded by my family and diverse, vibrant, totally beautiful island community on these long summer days.

08.01.2022 Week Two of our Ochre Earth Building course. An earthy new fire pit to replace ours that was stolen from the beach a few weeks ago.. We are now confident enough with our cob mix that it only took a brief refresher discussion for the kids to remember the sand : clay ratio (7:3). Our eldest broke the earth and everyone was involved with digging, mixing, kneading, collecting buckets of water and shaping the cob. ... We will be adding another layer and some decorative features next!

08.01.2022 Another creative community event by some of our favourite humans just around the corner from our basecamp at Sandpiper Beach! There is still time to enter and plan your sunset picnic.
