20.01.2022 Our garlic is finally ready for sale. We look forward to receiving your orders - through our website order form is probably the best way. Here is Fred cleaning the garlic.

18.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to the ongoing drought, our garlic crop for 2019 has not been a success. Apologies to our customers that we will not have any garlic to sell. We may turn our tiny garlic into dried garlic when it has finished the curing process. Will keep you posted on that.

16.01.2022 Our garlic is loving the last couple of warm sunny days and is growing up at a fast rate. Even the scapes are starting to form early - that means a good lot of garlic pearls - yum!

13.01.2022 Its that time of the year again - garlic harvesting time. Its only a small crop this year and is looking wonderful. We are about half way through so after the drying time of a few weeks, it will be ready for sale in late December/early January. Will let you know when its ready. 11.01.2022 We have just changed our garlic page to Ontos Farm to better reflect the variety of activities on the farm. Yes we still grow garlic but we grow a lot of other things and do a lot of other things too. Hope you enjoy our new page!!

09.01.2022 The garlic harvest is finally over and its all in the shed for drying. Its been a huge job and we are very grateful for the help we received from Sylvia, our wwoofer from Sweden and a couple of kind neighbours. Here I am with the last bulb to come out and the garlic finally in the shed.

09.01.2022 Finally the day has arrived - the start of our harvest! Unfortunately we have no wwoofers or helpers this year so just two of us - Fred and I to bring the garlic in. As they say - when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Let's hope it applies to us. The garlic looks lovely and is now being taken to racks in the shed for its period of drying. Will keep you posted as to what's happening.

07.01.2022 This year's garlic is looking pretty good and may be ready a bit earlier than usual - in late December. Fred has just finished weeding it, a huge job - well done!

06.01.2022 Oh, so I didn't put a timetable for the availability of the garlic! We harvest our garlic in early December and then, after natural drying, it is ready for sale in early to mid January. If you want to order via the internet please use the order form on the webpage. Otherwise we sell directly to 22 organic food shops in Melbourne and through Bairnsdale Fruit Supply in Bairnsdale. You can always come and visit our farm to buy directly as well. Please telephone before you come to make sure we are home. We are able to keep our price the same this year as it was last year - $35 per kg or $31.50 for orders of 5kg or more.

04.01.2022 Welcome to the Ontos Farm Organic Garlic page. Our 2016 crop is currently growing well, having survived the incredible amount of rain we have had during winter. Here is a photo taken in June. Updated photos will be posted when I get a nice sunny day again.
