22.01.2022 So thats a wrap on a fantastic weekend of training and garage networking at the Bathurst 12 hour. Congratulations to the wining team Bentley and special thank you to Reece Chapman, Aussie Race Car Driver, for dropping by to say Gday. When Reece is not racing in the Aussie Race Car series he is a vehicle technician at his Dads (Chad Chapman) garage, Great Lakes Automotive, in Forster NSW. Reece and his fellow technicians use the Autologic product daily to fix faults on veh...icles passing through the workshop. He is a big fan of the legacy Autologic Diagnostic tools (BB and AssistPlus) and more recently DrivePRO, the latest product from the Opus IVS range. Thank you to all those that attended the weekend and from the casual feedback I think you really enjoyed the training and opportunity to talk to other techs and Business owners. Thanks again to Capricorn and particularly CoolDrive Autoparts for supporting this event. #opusivs #intelligentvehiclesupport #Capricorn #CoolDriveautoparts

"Getting to Grips with Diagnostics" has been designed to provide the workshop technician with a quick and efficient guide from fault diagnosis all the way through to resolution, using the DrivePRO diagnostic tool and Autologics PicoScope product. 14.01.2022 With garages and technicians now back at work, our Master Technicians here at Opus IVS are seeing a multitude of diagnostic support requests via the IVS 360 service. This week, the Mercedes team helped a customer diagnose and repair a vehicle that had an inoperative ECO START / STOP after it was not used for a period of time. This was due to the fuel tank reserve reaching minimum. Here are the steps our Master Technicians provided to solve the issue:... Vehicle: Mercedes Vehicles from 2011 onwards with ECO START / STOP Issue: ECO START / STOP inoperative after vehicle not used for a period of time with low fuel level indicator activated. Cause: When the fuel tank reserve reaches the minimum (no display of remaining range), the ECO START / STOP function is deactivated. Repair procedure: 1. Start engine. 2. Check fuel level in vehicle instrument cluster. 3. Fuel range is no longer displayed. 4. Refill with fuel (minimum of 20 litres). 5. Activate ECO START / STOP. 6. ECO START / STOP symbol illuminates Amber in vehicle instrument cluster. 7. Drive vehicle for approx. 10 mins (at least 1 litre of fuel must be used within the ignition cycle). 8. 11.01.2022 IVS 360 support offers live repair guidance and remote programming services to help workshops fix complex vehicles safely and fast. All our mechanical repair and collision solutions come with live repair guidance from IVS 360 OEM brand-specific master technicians. Our OEM brand-specific master technicians are masters within their brand fields and provide workshops all over the world with live repair guidance daily. Damon Howes, VAG Master Technician at Opus IVS helped a cust...omer this week with an Audi A4 who fixed and cleared a vacuum sensor fault, but the vehicle continued to display fault code C123EFO (hydraulic brake booster). Here is the guidance that Damon provided to repair the fault: Make/Model: Audi A4 Customer information provided: - (C123EF0) Hydraulic brake boost limit value exceeded. - (P050F) Brake Assist Vacuum Too Low. - (C123EFO) hydraulic brake booster, limit reached 263936. - (C11ECO4) brake booster pressure sensor. - Fault codes C123EFO hydraulic brake booster limit value reached. - C11EC04 brake booster pressure sensor faulty. Work already carried out: Fixed vacuum sensor fault and cleared but C123EFO still present (static). Background: The fault starts as a brake servo vacuum sensor fault. As soon as this fault is recorded, the ABS system uses an accumulated source of pressure to work/boost the Brake Assistance, once the accumulated pressure drops (brake pedal activated several times) the ABS system has no way to restore system pressure! Repair: The ABS unit (complete) must be replaced. (New ABS units sometimes have Component Protection). Additional guidance: The job of the Bosch ABS 9 has changed slightly, in the fact that the ABS is now capable of generating additional braking force, if the servo does not seem to be able to generate desired assistance. This is known as Optimised hydraulic brake servo (OBBS). If the driver ignores the yellow ! on the Instrument Panel Cluster, this could become a red ! which would result in requiring a completely new ABS module. Visit https://au.autologic.com/products/assist for information on how your workshop can obtain live repair guidance from Opus IVS 360 OEM brand-specific master technicians.

11.01.2022 As we know, post lockdown, many workshops and technicians will see vehicles with flat batteries from being left unused for prolonged periods of time. In Mercedes Vehicles (up to 2006), vehicles often display an ESP Unavailable message in the Multifunction Vehicle Display after not being used for a period of time, or due to a flat battery. In this instance, Opus IVS Master Technicians suggest that you:... 1. Start the engine. 2. Turn the steering wheel fully anti-clockwise and hold on full lock for 1 second. 3. Next, turn the steering wheel fully clockwise and hold on lock for 1 second. 4. Lastly, turn the steering wheel back to a central position (road wheels facing forward). 5. The ESP message should extinguish disappear. 6. Switch the engine off and remove the vehicle key. 7. Lock the vehicle and wait for 30 seconds for the Instrument Cluster to go to sleep. 8. Unlock the vehicle and start the engine. 9. No warning or error message for ESP unavailable should be displayed. 10. If a warning message is still displayed, check the vehicle battery condition and that the vehicle is charging. 11. Repeat steps 1 - 9 once the issue has been localised. Our team of IVS 360 Master Technicians are on hand to support your business now and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. 03.01.2022 With many vehicles being left inoperative for long periods of time during the COVID-19 lockdown period, our Master Technicians expect that you will see a variety of electrical faults and locking/unlocking issues. For example, a Renault Megane and Scenic (2002 2009) hands-free locking systems will become inoperative after being unused for a long period of time. This usually happens if the vehicle is left for more than 72 hours. On normal operation, approaching the car and c...lasping the door handle will unlock these vehicles. Or, to re-initialise the sensors, clasping and pulling the door handle will wake up the system. It is often the case that these techniques do not work, and therefore our Opus IVS Master Technicians suggest that you: 1. Enter car by pressing the unlock button on the Keycard (if the Keycard does not work remove key blade from the Keycard and insert in door lock under passenger side door handle plastic cover). 2. Put the Keycard into the card reader and start vehicle. 3. Switch off, remove the Keycard and exit vehicle. 4. Close doors and walk out of access zone (at least 1.5 metres away). 5. Normal hands free operation should now return. Want to learn more in lockdown? Register for our FREE webinars at https://uk.autologic.com/training/webinars-1 *** WE ARE STILL OPEN!
