25.01.2022 Any one want to ruin a jolly good walk? Play nine holes of golf today. You don't have to be a member of the club to play, just pay the one off green fees. You can even hire clubs, so you have no excuse.
24.01.2022 We’re having fabulous weather. Have you joined the Golf Club as a social member? It’s really cheap and you get half the membership fee as a bar credit. Join up when you take your next walk on the best 9 hole golf course in Perth.
24.01.2022 Mosman Park Councillors get paid too. They all get paid as band 2 (from the Act). What happens if they collect more rates from more houses? They go to band 3. What does that mean? The fee they get paid for attending a meeting goes from a maximum of $410 to a maximum of $582. Or their annual allowance (not including expenses) goes from $16,367 to a maximum of $23,230. Guess who determines how much they get paid? Anyone want a part-time job in October? They really do need to stop the push to collect more rates from houses built on our golf course.
23.01.2022 Did you see the Post? Looks like the Mayor has taken fright. The financially challenged Council is now spending a heap of money on a community survey to find out what we want. Try: lower rates and less interference for a start. Maybe get rid of some of the office administration staff. Does anyone remember the 1970's when Mosman Park was able to manage the development of Buckland Hill with only six office staff and managers? How many are in the office now? ... The Councillors didn't get paid a cent back then. If the Councillors are concerned about finances, wind the clock back a few years. Councillors; stop taking all that money for attending the meetings and answering a few emails.
23.01.2022 There's a rumour that the Council has put aside a huge amount of money to survey residents. Apparently they don't know if we want to keep the Golf Club. Can anyone ask the Mayor how much money is being spent on the survey?
22.01.2022 Did you enjoy walking around the golf course on Mother's Day? Wasn't it wonderful? Can you imagine what it is going to be like walking behind all the new houses and not being able to enjoy the bush or the view?
21.01.2022 The bar is closed. The staff are gone. The golf course is still open. You can play on your own or bring a person living in the same house. Email the Club at [email protected] to book your start time. No touching man made things, to ensure we dont spread COVID-19. Arent we lucky to have a golf course in Mosman Park? The only sport you can still play in these worrying times. Dont get lazy and unfit, play a round of golf or just walk on the fabulous course.
21.01.2022 Show your support by joining the Club as a social member. It costs only $40 and that includes $20 of free drinks. https://www.mosmanparkgolfclub.com.au/cms/social-membership/
20.01.2022 Social distancing at it's best. Take the dog for a walk (on a lead) around the golf course. Get some fresh air. Get some exercise. Enjoy this precious Mosman Park resource while you can.
19.01.2022 How many of Mosman Park's sports clubs can still run their sports? Has your club closed down? Come and get some fresh air and enjoy a new sport. The way we hit the ball we will never be close to our mates. Social distancing is easy when you are playing golf. But remember, no touching man made objects on the course. UPDATE: New Government rules. No sports can be played with two people anymore, unless they are housemates/partners. You are very welcome to play a round of golf on your own. Enjoy the peace and quiet. Or grab your husband/wife/lover/unloved partner and play nine holes. You can't play with someone who is not living in your house. The bar is, of course, closed.
18.01.2022 The bar is still open. Sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the views from the Clubhouse before you can't. Have you taken the time to let the Council know you want to keep Mosman Park Golf Club for the ratepayers to enjoy?
18.01.2022 Mayor Pollock should stop wasting ratepayers money. Leave the golf course and the golf club alone. Give the ratepayers a refund. Stop spending ratepayers money on dumb surveys.
16.01.2022 MPGC has fantastic new outdoor furniture on the balcony. Its just begging for Mossie Park residents to sit and enjoy the river views. Take the dogs for a walk. Or the old man. Now the Club is staying, wander in and join the fun.
16.01.2022 Are we still showing our support for the Golf Club? The weather is not so good this weekend so you probably dont want to walk to the Club. Take a short drive and enjoy watching the rain on the river from the Club bar. Join as a social member to let the Club know we still support them.
16.01.2022 Congratulations to Tony Howell, CEO of Mosman Park Golf Club. This week Tony was selected as the Western Australian Golf Club Manager of the Year. It is crazy to think that the Council would still like to abolish the Club. 10 years is great. A 20 year lease would have been better. Have you had a drink at the bar yet?
15.01.2022 Well, there's no Community Day today at the Mosman Park Golf Club. Don't let that stop you showing your support. Head on up to the Club for a bit of a look (and walk) around. Take the dog and let him enjoy it to.
15.01.2022 Feel free to post your own fabulous photos of the wonderful Mosman Park Golf Course. We can enjoy your walks through the fantastic green open space the members of MPGC pay the upkeep of.
14.01.2022 The bar is closed but the fabulous grounds of the Mosman Park Golf Club are still open to ratepayers one and all. Keep your social distancing. Please don't touch anything man made on the course. You never know who has touched it before you! No COVID-19 please.
13.01.2022 A Mosman Park resident just posted on Facebook "2 weeks ago the roundabout at Wellington and Solomon was remodeled, new concrete curbing and all access ramps installed. This morning the crew.moved in to smash up the concrete ramps." Would you trust the Mosman Park council redeveloping the Golf Course when they can't even get a roundabout right the first time? Wasting more ratepayers money. :(... Dear Mr Mayor, please leave the Golf Club and the golf course alone.
13.01.2022 Did you hear the news? The Mayor has announced he won’t be continuing after the 2021 elections. His treatment of the Golf Club, trying to turn it into a housing estate, was the writing on the wall. At least he could read .....

12.01.2022 What a great course! No kangaroo or water hazards on Mosman Park Golf Club's magnificent course. Have you told the Council yet to keep it's hands off Mosman Park Golf Club?
12.01.2022 If you are playing at Mosman Park Golf Club you don't have to get the ball in the hole (just while we are social distancing). There is circle around the hole, if you hit your ball in there it's a 'gimme'. Pick it up and move on.
11.01.2022 Best way to spend this afternoon? Go for a walk around the golf course. Enjoy the country walk feel. Head to the Clubhouse and buy a drink. Sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Million dollar views for the price of a drink. Enjoy the views while you can. If the Mayor gets his way only the very rich will be able to buy a block and build on this precious site. Why should the select few get those views when we all want to enjoy them? Show you want to save the views by visitng the Club today or any day.
10.01.2022 Isolation exercise should be outdoors in the fresh air. It should include a walk - about two hours worth - some limbering up and the chance to wander off into the bushes looking for a small round ball. Join the Mosman Park and play nine holes of golf. Your completely legal sport to play during the COVID-19 lockdown. Support the Club and save it from a Mosman Park Council induced permanent lockdown.
09.01.2022 Golf Australia Magazine December 2019 declared Mosman Park Golf Course one of the top nine hole golf courses in Australia. Why would the Council destroy it? Here's the link https://www.golfaustralia.com.au//small-wonders-australias Here's
09.01.2022 MPGC has fantastic new outdoor furniture on the balcony. It’s just begging for Mossie Park residents to sit and enjoy the river views. Take the dogs for a walk. Or the old man. Now the Club is staying, wander in and join the fun.
09.01.2022 Who is trying to play sport this weekend at their Mosman Park sports club? Tennis anyone? Footie? Lawn Bowls? Driving through Mosman Park today the only sports club you can get out and play your sport is Mosman Park Golf Club. Why does the Council want to destroy the Club?
08.01.2022 A little bit of history from the MPGC website: "Through the latter years of the 1950s a group of local Mosman Park residents applied to the Mosman Park Road Board to lease a tract of land in Mosman Park for use as a nine hole golf course. In August 1959 this approval was granted and work began on construction of the Mosman Park Golf Club. As with most golf courses of this era much of the work was done on a voluntary basis led by the Clubs foundation members. The original co...urse was designed by local Golf Professional, Neville Johnson, and for the most part, remains very similar today." Famous Mosman Park names like Adam, Grigg, Camm, Nash, Tregonning, Jones, Stephenson, Cocks, Barker and Edwards were all volunteers who helped clear the scrub and rubbish one stone at a time to create the fabulous course. There were of course many more. Do you know anyone to add to the list?
06.01.2022 Congratulations to the team at Mosman Park Golf Club. The Council has got on board. The lease has been renewed until July 2031. YAY. Now we can all continue to enjoy the natural landscape, the birds and fresh air. Go for a walk and enjoy the peace and quiet. Or better still join the Club and have a drink at the bar.
06.01.2022 Hey, if you park in Wellington Street and start playing golf from the water tower you are stealing. Do the right thing and pay your green fees. The Mosman Park Golf Club needs financial support too. Two guys were spotted doing this, please don't.
06.01.2022 Oh dear. What the Council gives with one hand and takes away with another. There is a brand new lease for the Golf Club. Not all the new clauses make life easy for the Club. Lots of negotiations still happening.
06.01.2022 Mosman Park Council is a "band 3" council. The banding determines how much the Mayor and Councillors get paid for their "volunteer" work. The Council website doesn't disclose how much they are paid. According to the "Salaries and Allowances Act" the Mayor could be getting paid as much as $36,957 in band 3. If the council can collect more rates and go to band 2, the Mayor's "pay" goes up to $63,354. Do you think there might be a conflict of interest with him pushing for more housing to be built Mosman Park Golf Course? Just maybe more houses = more rates = more money for the Mayor. Just maybe. Have a look at the Act and let us know what you think. https://www.sat.wa.gov.au//Local-Govt-CEO-and-Elected-Memb
04.01.2022 Sadly, the MPGC Community Open Day has been cancelled. BUT that doesn't stop us from going for a walk on the golf course. Enjoy the walk and end up at the bar. Now that's a good idea.
02.01.2022 Have you been for a wander through the golf course lately? Birds are singing, plants are blooming. It’s a great walk in the early morning or after work.
