25.01.2022 Enjoy making up these marinades to go with your favourite dishes.
25.01.2022 Happy Monday! It's a beautiful day where I am! My thing is "Leadership Retreat Live 2020" this Friday and Saturday. ... What's your one thing?
24.01.2022 Here it is! New theme starting!
24.01.2022 Do you know your hair type? There's a few things to consider when determining your hair type. But let's keep it simple for now Texture (the natural shape of your strands). Straight, wavy, curly? ... Structure (thickness of the strands). Fine, medium, course? Porosity (your hairs ability to absorb moisture and products). This is an important one to consider because it helps you to work out what products to use on your hair. Scalp Moisture (oily? dry? normal? (A bit of a mixture?). Understanding your scalp moisture helps those strands! What's your type? Have a guess!
23.01.2022 It's not just the "outside" when it comes to skin and hair care. What we put "inside" counts too!
21.01.2022 I think this covers it all. :)
21.01.2022 Natural, powerful properties of essential oils are great for promoting healthy skin. They are perfect for cleansing, soothing and nurturing our skin. Cleansing - Some essential oils hold significant cleansing and purifying properties, which is great for helping to keep our skin clean and clear. Wild Orange, Tee Tree, Grapefruit, Cypress and Basil can be used for cleansing. These are lovely oils to use in your skin care routine. Nurturing One of my very favourite things... about essential oils for skin is that they can help nourish and nurture. Certain oils will moisturise, tone and encourage renewal of cells by nourishing deep within. These are the ones that help to reduce the appearance of fine lines like Frankincense, YarrowPom, Cedarwood, Helichrysum. Soothing Certain essential oils can help soothe irritated skin. For example, if you have sensitive skin, some ingredients in products can be too harsh and irritate your skin even more. Rose, Geranium, Lavender, Frankincense and Clary Sage help care for your skin with natural soothing properties. These essential oils are some of the best oils for skin. They cleanse, soothe and nurture. Arborvitae, Basil, Bergamot, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Coriander, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit, Helichrysum, Jasmine, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Tea Tree, Myrrh, Patchouli, Rose, Sandalwood

16.01.2022 Marinades Sweet, savoury and potent flavours. Essential oils can make the perfect addition to your favorite marinades! Whether you are marinating meat, vegetables, seafood, or anything else you plan to cook up, adding essential oils will give your dish that extra dose of flavour. The amount of essential oil that you add to your marinade will depend on what you are marinating, how long the food will marinate in the mixture, and how much liquid the marinade has. Add 1-2 drops ...to start and add more as you taste your creation. So, which are the best essential oils for marinades? Start with Basil, Black Pepper, (remember this one makes the others pop), Cardamom, Cilantro, Cumin, Fennel, Ginger, Lemon, Lime, Wild Orange, Marjoram, Oregano and Rosemary. Have fun experimenting!
16.01.2022 Friday night! Time for a little extra TLC on your gorgeous locks! Shampoo hair and squeeze excess water out with your hands first and then use a towel to squeeze dry that last little bit! Into your conditioner add 3 drops of Geranium and Rosemary essential oil. Both of these oils will help to increase circulation to your scalp, strengthen hair follicles and stimulate hair growth. If you have oily scalp add a couple of drops of Clary Sage (its great for helping to balance out... the oil production). Apply to hair, comb through and leave for 5-10 minutes. Rinse well. Squeeze dry with hands first, then towel. Add 2 pumps of Root to Tip Serum through hair to the ends and let your hair dry naturally. Voila!
16.01.2022 I love this. There's lots of ways we can learn to stop rushing and more importantly, why we need to slow things right down at times. Whats your tip?

11.01.2022 Sun and Skin Care! We Aussies love the outdoors. Especially time at the beach Our body produces Vitamin D from sun exposure and that's good for us. But it's important that the exposure isn't detrimental to your health. Small amounts of time in the sun during the cooler parts of the day (before 10am and after 3pm) is good for us.... If you plan on spending longer time in the sun then it's best to protect your skin with good sun protection. You can opt for a sunscreen suitable to your activities or take the time to cover up well. Believe me. It's worth it! Take care of your skin in the sun
09.01.2022 How much water should we drink? Here's a simple way to work it out.
08.01.2022 AND.. here is the very last of the series Food Flavouring with Essential Oils Flavouring Coffee Lots of people love a flavour in their coffee. Its always a nice change. But some flavourings can be artificial and full of sugar and calories!... Do you know how many calories are in essential oils? Thats right, you guessed it! Zip, Zero, Nada! But they do have lots of flavour. Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Cardamom, Lavender, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Juniper Berry, Wild Orange and Peppermint are all divine as a natural flavouring in your daily brew. I love them all but here are a few of my favourites. Just 1 drop is all you need. Cardamom: helps reduce the acid in coffee and also neutralises the stimulating effects of caffeine. It tastes great! Wild Orange: so yum when added. The smell is good and you just breathe it in for a calm relaxed feeling. Cinnamon: spicy and like a chai. Beautiful on cold days. Peppermint: perfect for a pick me up. It opens airways and helps clear that brain fog. Just remember your hot coffee will act like a diffuser (bonus!). The aroma of the essential oil will rise in the steam so take your first sip slow and careful until you are used to it. Close your eyes for a beautiful moment during that first sip and enjoy! :)
08.01.2022 It was one of those days where you just have to say it out loud! #greatday #greatweather #greatcompany #ourtruewellness
07.01.2022 Many of us have a pretty good idea of our skin type. Its usually determined by genetics, but daily habits and environmental factors can also have a big impact on our skin. Our skin type can also change slightly over time as we age, treat it, and change our habits. The most common skin type is Dry, Oily and Combination and its these types what we deal with in the Salon the most, when treating Clients. Other issues like pimples/acne and sensitivity are CONDITIONS that can hap...pen to all skin types and these conditions can be ongoing or just come and go. You can also have a combination of skin type and conditions at the same time! Whew! Dont get confused and dont worry. Remember I like to keep it simple, so lets look at the basics of these 3 types. Dry Skin: can look flaky, scaly, and a bit dull. You wont have noticeable pores but fine lines will always be noticeable. It can feel rough in places and tight after cleansing. Sometimes you will get more irritation and sensitivity and feel like your moisturiser only works for a few hours before getting that tight feeling again. Oily Skin: We all know this one! A nice shiny face . It produces a little too much oil, especially when humid and is more prone to break outs. This oily shine is more common in the T-zone, where there is enlarged pores. Over active sebaceous glands come into play and our skin feels greasy and makeup never lasts! Combination Skin: A very common skin type and one that most people will have. It looks and feels oily in your T-zone, and maybe little dry patches on your cheeks. The pores on your nose and chin will also be a little larger than those on your cheeks. It is also more prone to conditions like sensitivity. One of the most important things with all skin types and conditions is water! Drink lots of water. Now dont misunderstand m; it wont improve your skin type or condition, but it will help your body be as healthy as possible, so it works in conjunction with good skin care products and supplements. If youre not exactly sure of your skin type, consider making an appointment to see your local Beauty Therapist. We happily give you a Free Skin Consultation/Analysis which will help you to understand your skin type a little better.
05.01.2022 Citrus Essential Oils for Food Flavouring Bright, sweet, tangy and refreshing! That says it all! But to zest or juice? That is the question. ... Firstly, you can add citrus essential oils to just about any recipe. Meat and vegetable dishes, tea, coffee, water, smoothies, yoghurt and dips. The possibilities are endless really. Remember, citrus essential oils are taken from the peel (not the juice). The peel is the most potent part because of the amount of oil in the skin. If youre looking for that bold citrus flavour, 3-4 drops will match the flavour of the zest. Citrus juice contains citric acid and that gives a tart, acidic flavour to the dish. It can help to balance out sweetness. The acid can also help tenderise certain meats because it breaks down the proteins in the meat. Whatever way you choose to use your citrus oils, Bergamot , Grapefruit, Lemon , Lime, Clementine, Tangerine and Wild Orange will certainly give your food a beautiful bold flavoursome taste!
05.01.2022 Dry and flaky skin is a very common problem in people of all ages. When our skin is dehydrated, fine line become more visible, the skin feels rough and dull and it starts to flake in patches (usually forehead and cheeks) and around the hairline. Why does this happen?... The outermost layer of the skin is made up of dead skin cells in natural oils that are made by the living skin cells underneath. We call this protective barrier the Acid Mantle. This barrier helps keep the water inside our body from escaping into the air. It also stops irritating substances (many in products we use on our body) and other germs from entering the body. The Acid Mantle helps to hold in moisture (water), that helps keep the skin soft, pliable, and smooth. Simply put; we get dry skin when there is not enough water in the top layer of our skin for it to function properly. This happens when protective oils in the barrier are lost (the acid mantle has been damaged by over cleansing, the type of product you use, too much exfoliation and of course, aging). So, water that is normally present in the skin is allowed to escape. It starts to flake and as the skin dries out it shrinks. When it shrinks, small cracks can occur. When this happens, our skin is exposed to products, germs and the environment that can be very irritating to it. How can we improve it? First, we need to work out what factors could be causing your dry skin. The type of product you use, how your using it etc. So in keeping it simple (which you know that's how I like to work), try these few easy tips. Use a mild cleanser. A good cleanser eliminates dirt and makeup but leaves some of the natural oils of your skin intact so it doesnt have that tight, dry feeling when you dry off. Exfoliate. Gently! Too much exfoliation can actually have the opposite effect. Once to twice a week using a gentle exfoliant will remove the dead skin cells and restore a smooth, even appearance. Choose one that has spheres and not the ground shells of nuts! Hydrate First, Then Moisturise! Most moisturisers are meant to be occlusive, (this means they seal in hydration that already exists in the layers of the skin). To get the full benefits of a moisturiser, you have to use it on hydrated skin. Thats one of the reasons that we use a Toner on our face! It hydrates, and then you lock it in with a moisturiser (especially one with hydrating ingredients in it) keeping that water in our skin where it belongs.

04.01.2022 Our skin is important and something many of us take for granted. Its the largest organ of our body and only about 2mm thick. We need to look after it the best way we can, and having a better understanding of the Basic Anatomy of skin and what it actually does, is a good place to start Our skin is made up of three layers and its primary function is to protect our body from environmental hazards like: Mechanical and Chemical injury UV light...Continue reading
04.01.2022 As a Beauty Therapist, I often see a particularly important part of skin care forgotten. Exfoliation! Our skin renews itself every month and to help it be at its best we need to help it by removing the barrier of dead skin cells on the surface and uncover the fresh new cells below. Theres lots of things to consider when choosing your exfoliant. You certainly dont need to end up with a red raw face (and body) from exfoliating. It can be done gently and effectively.... Your skins surface has a protective layer; the Acid Mantle. Over exfoliating or using harsh exfoliating products can damage this barrier and cause micro tears in your skin. This microscopic damage can allow bacteria to penetrate the protective layer leading to infections. Choose an exfoliating product that has biodegradable sphere shaped beadlets and Jojoba Esters and the added benefit of Citric Acid from citrus essential oils. Citric Acid is a gentle, natural exfoliant and Jojoba Esters are round and wont cause micro tears in your skin. They also are closest to your skins natural sebum so they will remove the dead skin cells and moisturise at the same time! I use the doTERRA Invigorating Scrub on myself and use it in facials on my Clients. Great for ALL skin types from acne prone, sensitive, through to dry, mature skin. A product that every single person (including the guys) in your home can use twice a week to help look after your skin.
03.01.2022 Salad If you want an easy way to brighten up any salad recipe, essential oils can help add a refreshing, healthy, or invigorating flavour. From a traditional green salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, quinoa salad, potato salad, or anything else, adding a dash of essential oil can help take any ordinary salad recipe to the next level. Essential oils are easy to incorporate into your own salad dressing recipes; especially for oil-based dressings. Because many salad reci...pes require the salad to cool in the fridge, REMEMBER that essential oil flavours will become stronger the longer they sit on or in the food. If your potato or pasta salad is going to sit in the fridge for a day before you serve it, consider adding the essential oils just before serving (instead of when you first make the salad) to ensure that the flavour isnt too strong. What's your favourite essential oil salad dressing?
