24.01.2022 Occupational Therapists will often be asked to contribute their expertise to home modification reports. I was definitely inspired by this beautiful accessible kitchen explored on Grand Designs, and as the owner states ‘it’s the environment that makes you disabled’. This just highlights the importance of universal design and how small adjustments can make a huge difference to the range of people that can and will use a space.

23.01.2022 I want to send a huge shout out to all my wonderful patients and their families who have supported me this year with such a wonderful and successful start to Penguin Occupational Therapy. I couldn't and wouldn't do it without you all and have so enjoyed being part your lives! p.s. Today was my last working day before Christmas break and I will be returning with the school term in February so I will see you all in 2020!!

14.01.2022 Happy Occupational Therapy Week! So what is OT? The answer to that question will vary depending on who you ask as all our assessment and treatment is personalised or client focused. My aim is to help people reach independence in any activities that are important to them what is OT? #thisisot

09.01.2022 Happy New Year from Penguin Occupational Therapy. I am so excited to see what life brings all my wonderful clients and their families. Though so saddened to begin this decade with the devastating loss that is facing Australia in the wake of the bushfires. It breaks my heart seeing the reports of what has been lost but grateful to everyone assisting especially our brave firies. Look after each other, have courage and be kind

09.01.2022 The new school year is rapidly approaching and with that emotions are increasing for everyone. Both parents and children may be feeling excited, eager, confident, anxious, worried or completely nonplussed! The video below is a short snapshot of one of my favourite books to read with my own children and those that I work with. It helps children to understand where anxiety comes from and be empowered to manage that anxiety (and the true meaning of being brave!)

09.01.2022 We love Bluey - this little pup gives me precious moments of peace in otherwise chaotic days with my beautiful (crazy) kids! What I love most about this program is how it genuinely teaches me to play, connect and engage with my children in a totally new way. I could talk about play all day and still not emphasise the importance of play for all of us, kids teens and adults. As Bandit wisely said making up games is more important than you think.... I hope you all have a wonderful playful Saturday

07.01.2022 This is the quad of the University I was lucky enough to attend, bringing back the memories!! I miss these beautiful English buildings

07.01.2022 HIDDEN DISABILITY PROGRAM. What a wonderful idea - I think lots of families will benefit from these strategies 5 Australian airports (Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney) offering social stories, lanyards, and sensory maps. Follow the link to apply if you have travel upcoming!

01.01.2022 When we make a small mistake, we almost always feel bad about it. But when we accomplish a small goal, we almost never feel good about it. Let's turn this around and celebrate our wins!
