23.01.2022 Thank you for waiting patiently while we receive directives from SALAA on what we can and can't do to finalise our season. At this stage we still have the equivalent of three meets left which we will complete this weekend by running two longer events. One on Friday night and the other on Sunday morning starting at 9.30 am. ALTERED START TIMES AND EVENTS: ... Due to Mary McKillop school having an excursion on Friday 4th we will start at 4.30pm with the under 6 to 9's doing 6 events and the older groups doing 7. On Sunday the 6th December, the 6 to 9's will have 6 events and the older groups will have 8, starting at 9.30am. Your child can compete in all or some of the events offered. A BBQ will be available at both. PRESENTATION NIGHT & AGM This will be held after the last day of school at 3.00pm, Friday 10th December. COVID SAFE PLAN AND CHECK IN Our club has an updated Covid Safe plan which will be on display and you will be required to check in either using our QR code or in writing. We understand that these dates and times will not be ideal for everyone but unfortunately this year has not been an ideal one in general and we look forward to running an uninterrupted season again in 2021. 22.01.2022 REGIONAL DAY AT BORDERTOWN We had a fantastic day out last Sunday at the Country Champs with 22 of our Little Athletes competing against clubs from all over the South East. Each and every one of the children came home with one or more place ribbons with 6 winning places in their age groups. ... Three Gold, two Bronze and a Silver We couldn’t be prouder of how hard everyone tried and their sportsmanship and encouragement of each other was fantastic to see. Well done everyone! Thanks to Bordertown Little Athletics for hosting a well organised day for everyone.

19.01.2022 Once registered, your child will receive a pack with three different patches to be sewn onto their polo shirts. These patches change every year depending on the major sponsors and your registration number so tacking on is just fine. See below for correct placement.

Seems it was Cheryl’s lucky day The lolly raffle was won by an ecstatic Joel Crawford who guessed the closest with 104. The total number of lollies in the jar was 105. 17.01.2022 You may have noticed our new high jump mats have arrived for the younger age groups thanks to a grant received from Little Athletics major sponsor Coles. They will take a bit of practice to get used to but will bring us into line with the standard size for high jump with scissor kick. We would like to send out a massive thank you to our wonderful treasurer Kylie Gartner. She has been working steadily behind the scenes over the last couple of years, keeping our acc...ounts in order and writing grant applications, most of which have been successful, enabling our club to purchase both new sets of high jump mats with a total of $7600 from Coles. Kylie has also secured 2 x $500 grants from Penola Bendigo Bank helping us to purchase the starter gun and laptop for registrations and record keeping. Thank you to Bendigo Bank Penola and Coles, their support is invaluable. Thanks Kylie - you are a true champion and we appreciate all that you do. It would be great if your children could wear their Coles cap tomorrow for a photo with the new mat. If they don’t have one yet, there are more available in the shed.

Due to the pressure on small businesses this year we haven’t asked for sponsorship making this the only fundraiser we are holding this season. 09.01.2022 REGIONAL DAY WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS MEDIA CONSENT DATES TO REMEMBER ... We have had a great weekend with two successful meets, Friday afternoon and this morning and it was great to see some new smiling faces out on track and friends and grandparents coming along to watch this morning. REGIONAL DAY - BORDERTOWN - NOVEMBER 1st The Country Championships is a competition that provides our children with an opportunity to compete against other athletes from different centres in their region. Event attendance is completely optional however it would be great to see as many athletes as possible representing our club. This season the Bordertown Little Athletics Centre will be hosting the SE event. The entry fee is $11.20 per athlete and they can choose 5 different events to compete in. Entries close on Wednesday, 28th October This year Come and Try athletes are also able to enter. Occasionally you may be asked to supervise a different group as many families have children in several different age groups and we may be short on parent/chaperone numbers. 07.01.2022 TINY TOTS Every week a group of tiny tots can be spotted around the oval giving everything a try with massive smiles on their faces. It’s so good to see them having fun with their friends while keeping active. Thanks to Shelley and Kaleb for running the Tiny Tots programme which is aimed for children from 3 - 5 years. ... The emphasis here is for the children to have fun while developing basic motor skills through simple games and activities.
