25.01.2022 Training Tip Tuesday The scoop toss is one of my favourite exercises for developing athletic qualities through an explosive triple extension, that includes the entire body. Balance, coordination, accuracy, timing, centre of gravity management, and efficient energy transfer are skills that are not addressed in a typical training program, however, are absolutely essential to maximise athletic potential and development. These major skill components need to be trained... in order to ensure good efficiency of movement, and optimal force transfer. Energy transfer is important for athletic development. It requires quality control and movement through the entire chain to ensure that the force you are producing, carries through the body, without leaking energy. This video walks you through three different variations of the scoop toss, to improve your rate of force, and power development. #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #strength #stability #speed #power #endurance #conditioning #rateofforce #coach #tigermuaythai

24.01.2022 As a growing foetus, humans develop from three 'tubes.' The first tube runs right through us, with a knot in the middle. This becomes what is known as the cardiovascular system, with that knot becoming the heart. The second tube develops more or less parallel to the first, which forms a bubble that migrates to the top of the tube. This is the brain and spinal cord, with myriad nerves branching out into every part of our body, and becomes the nervous system.... The third tube runs right through us from end to end. This is our gastro-intestinal tract, or "gut." The gut does not get the credit it deserves, but dysfunction of the gut has far-reaching and potentially disastrous implications to the health of the entire organism. In this episode of the Live Train Perform Podcast, I dive into the importance of gut health, along with identifying potential triggers and intolerances which create an inflammatory response, mediated by the immune system...which affects all 11 systems of the body. Sounds complex? It is! But I do my best to break down this complex subject into easily digestible, and actionable takeaways that the average person can identify and implement. 24.01.2022 For those of you in lockdown around the world, I put out a heap of content around quality training sessions on my YouTube channel...whilst I was in lockdown myself. These sessions use just one tool/piece of equipment, or bodyweight only, per session. I cover strength, stability, skill development, speed, power, calisthenics, and conditioning based training sessions.... My @swiss.8 mini series episode on fitness was also released yesterday, and is live on all platforms. 23.01.2022 "A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control." - Jordan Peterson Today's episode of the Live Train Perform Podcast is all about discipline.... I spent 6 years in the Australian Army, with 3 deployments under my belt. I carried a rifle, or multiple weapon systems on each one of those deployments. There were multiple times when I had a person's head in my crosshairs...trigger discipline was essential, as was emotional stability and critical thinking to determine if this person was a threat or not. Episode 27: Swiss 8 Mini Series: Discipline is live on all platforms @swiss.8 #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #swiss8 #betteratlife #discipline #mindset #attitude

23.01.2022 Training Tip Tuesday Reposted from sometime early last year...less tattoos, not confident on camera, but still the same principles apply. Stability is the ability to resist force.... Strength is the ability to exert force. These aspects go hand in hand, and if one is compromised, it will affect the other. Quality movement is a skill, and should be trained as such. The single leg lateral hurdle hop is an excellent tool to use as part of your warm up on strength days, or as a standalone drill for speed and power days. I did a few warm up sets at lower hurdle heights barefoot to fire up the stabilisers in the lower limbs prior to putting my shoes on for increased power production #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #strength #stability #speed #power #conditioning #balance #coordination #timing #accuracy #tigermuaythai #coach

23.01.2022 Your relationship with the world is a reflection of your relationship with yourself. What I have learned over my 35 years of life, is that our perception is shaped by how we interpret our experiences, and how we perceive the world directly impacts our emotions, decisions, mental, spiritual and physical health and wellbeing...our internal and external environments are inter-related. There are two types of people in the world, all viewing the world through a window, or by the r...eflection in the mirror. The first person looks in the mirror when things are going well, and give themselves a pat on the back for their success. These same people look out the window when things are not going so well, pointing the finger at those around them for not showing the necessary support, or the bad luck that has come their way. The second person however, looks in the mirror when things are not going to plan. They ask what they have done to put themselves in their current situation, and what they can do to progress in a positive manner. These people look out the window when things are going well, and attribute their progress to those around them, and fortunate circumstances that have aided in their success. How do you perceive the window and the mirror? Today's episode of the Live Train Perform podcast was all about reflecting on the lessons of 2020, to be able to project into 2021. 22.01.2022 Workout Wednesday Add this amazing exercise into your daily movement The Turkish Get Up (TGU) is one of my favourite all round exercises.... I use it as an assessment, as a warm up, and as a standalone strength exercise. It incorporates three planes of movement, as well as three feedback systems, and takes you from the ground to a standing position, and back down again whilst maintaining stability, balance, tension, control and co-ordination between the muscles and the systems... I have a full movement tutorial up on my YouTube channel...link in bio #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #strength #speed #power #endurance #conditioning #stability #balance #tension #control #turkishgetup #coach #tigermuaythai #workoutwednesday

22.01.2022 "Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a while...including you!" When was the last time you switched off? In this day and age, we wake up in the morning and reach for our phone. We scroll through social media and reply to emails and messages before we even get out of bed. It's the last thing we do when we go to sleep, and the first thing we do when we wake up.... We start our day on someone else's terms, in this constantly reactive environment that needlessly draws our attention to the beeps and notifications of every message and reminder that comes through. Take some time for yourself. Set up a morning routine that allows you to start your day on the front foot. Set up an evening routine that allows you to wind down. Get away and switch off all of your handheld technology every now and again. Limit your social media time every day. Your stress levels with thank you for it. This last weekend, I went through a hard reset, and switched my phone off for roughly 40 hours, from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. I do this once a month, and appreciate living in the moment, with no distractions. I read. I swam and walked along the beach. I explored the island I was visiting. I did some goal setting. I reflected on my life...but this photo represents what I did the majority of the time #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #swiss8 #betteratlife #techfast #digitaldetox #mindfulness #minimalism

21.01.2022 WORKOUT WEDNESDAY The last few weeks I've been uploading medball/slamball, and ladder skills and drills to my socials, and my YouTube channel. Once you have the technique for the individual movements dialed in, you can start putting them together into speed and power endurance conditioning sessions...as demonstrated by my fight team ladies.... I've been running a general physical preparedness strength and conditioning program for the @teamenvisagemma managed, @tigermuaythai sponsored fighters for about two months now, with excellent progressions in all aspects of athletic development, which will carry over into their fight specific skills and drills, as well as other sports endeavours. We are close to rounding out the current phase, before moving onto the final phase of this periodized program, which is all about peak performance in all aspects that contribute to improved overall athleticism @mel_zeman @claudiadiazmma @estefania_m89 @jadaketley #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #strength #stability #speed #power #endurance #conditioning #coach #tigermuaythai

21.01.2022 If you had to react to a situation rapidly, how would you measure up? The use it or lose principle dictates that if you don't practice or use something, you lose the ability to do that something. We as humans, are losing our ability to move well...and in particular to react quickly and rapidly to either a threat, or an opportunity.... We no longer have to hunt down our food, or avoid becoming a predators food, but our ability to accelerate and decelerate rapidly, may one day mean the difference between life and death... The ladder is a great tool for teaching important components of skill and technique required for improving speed, agility and quickness. Balance, coordination, accuracy, timing, centre of gravity management, and efficient energy transfer are skills that are not addressed in a typical training program, however, are absolutely essential to maximise athletic potential and development. These major skill components need to be trained in order to ensure good efficiency of movement, and optimal force transfer. This video walks you through four different ladder training variations to improve your ability to be light on your feet, fast and agile. These drills are not only for athletes...the average person is losing the ability to move rapidly without injuring themselves. Add in some ladder and/or short sprint drills a couple times a week to round out your warm up, or dedicate a session or two per week to moving fast and efficiently for short bursts. The full video is up on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/Sw3NAFqZcNo #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #strength #stability #speed #agility #quickness #power #conditioning #endurance #coach #tigermuaythai #sprints #saq #ladderdrills

20.01.2022 Training Tip Tuesday The rotational hip toss is one of my favourite exercises for developing athletic qualities through an explosive rotational and lateral force transfer, that includes the entire body. Balance, coordination, accuracy, timing, centre of gravity management, and efficient energy transfer are skills that are not addressed in a typical training program, however, are absolutely essential to maximise athletic potential and development. These major skill... components need to be trained in order to ensure good efficiency of movement, and optimal force transfer. Energy transfer is important for athletic development. It requires quality control and movement through the entire chain to ensure that the force you are producing, carries through the body, without leaking energy. My goal with these drills is to produce the most amount of force possible, with the least amount of movement. This video walks you through three different variations of the rotational hip toss, to improve your rate of force, and power development. #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #strength #stability #speed #power #endurance #conditioning #rateofforce #powerdevelopment #forcetransfer #coach #tigermuaythai

20.01.2022 There are only two ways to influence human behavior: you can manipulate it or you can inspire it." - Simon Sinek In this short episode, I reflect on the pivotal moments in my life that have shaped my life's journey. These thoughts were brought on by the current book that I'm reading: Start with why, by Simon Sinek.... https://simonsinek.com/ I discuss the reason's why I made big, life-changing decisions throughout the course of my life, along with why I coach the way that I do, and the reason why I started this podcast. I also speak about one of the proudest moments of my life...and that was when the current UFC bantamweight champion, Petr Yan, had his hand raised after defeating a legend in the MMA world, in Jose Aldo. 19.01.2022 I met Will @willfoden in the early months of 2019 whilst we were both attending the Muscle Nerds Foundation Course @musclenerds_health in Singapore. Over the last 18 months or so, we have caught up numerous times, and dived into the weeds on all things human optimisation, psychology and behaviour, as well as talked shop for hours about our passion of being coaches in the Strength and Conditioning industry. Will is a former professional rugby player, and now works with general... population clients, high flying CEO's, and aspiring athletes in the bustling CBD of Singapore. He is a wealth of knowledge, and has a no bullshit approach to coaching...much like myself...which is probably why we get along so well! In this episode we discuss: - The lessons learned through growing up playing multiple sports - The recovery path back to the rugby pitch after a horrific injury - The many mindsets that we've encountered coaching numerous people for many years - How Will pivoted his business to navigate the Covid pandemic - Some of the best resources that Will recommends to everyone to be better at life Strap in, grab a notepad and pen, and enjoy the ride! 18.01.2022 The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) controls 80 - 90% of our physiological processes without us paying it any attention... The Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS/fight or flight) and Parasympathetic Nervous System (PSNS/rest and digest) are constantly playing tug-of-war with your physiological responses, in a back and forth battle to maintain homeostasis. If one side overpowers the other with strength (or signal input) in the battle, its up to the other side to respond in turn ...to win the next battle, and keep the body at an even keel. If there is one side that is triumphant the majority of the time, it will start showing up in other areas of the body. Each person has their own unique balance between SNS and PSNS - but when this normal becomes disrupted, the body experiences health consequences. I have a full podcast episode on measuring health markers here: https://www.buzzsprout.com//3771500-progress-tracking-basi I have also written about the practical application of balancing the autonomic nervous system throughout my time in Afghanistan here: https://anviltd.com//al/preservation-in-isolation-part-two Full 5 minute video is up on my YouTube channel #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #lifvelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest

17.01.2022 This episode is not for the faint of heart. Tristan and I served in the Australian Army together for many years, and we have a long history...some of which includes some of his darkest days, where he was at the point of no return. In this episode, we round out the Swiss 8 Mini Series, as well as the protocols and principles that he has implemented along the way, to dig himself out of the deep dark hole that is anxiety, depression and PTSD.... Tristan is the founder of Blind Tiger Yoga, and has taught his no bullshit style of yin based yoga, mindfulness and meditation to over 10,000 veterans and first-responders, as an alternate therapy for anxiety, depression and PTSD, not just as an intervention, but as a preventative measure to manage the mind...myself included. In fact, Tristan is the mastermind behind the Australian government providing a partial grant to educate and certify a dozen Australian Army Veterans in his style of yoga, to be taught to each individuals network. This initiative was provided to aid in addressing the mental health implications that war-fighting soldiers face when discharging from the Military, and trying to re-integrate back into a civilian population that, for the most part, does not uphold the same standards and professionalism that these soldiers are used to...which usually makes for a difficult transition. He is a pioneer in his field, and coaches from not only a scientific standpoint, but through lived experience. Swiss 8 is a proactive mental health model designed to provide the tools required to deliver high-quality content around their 8 pillars of health and wellness, to allow you to be "Better At Life." These principles are delivered straight to your phone, via the Swiss 8 app, where you can build out your daily routine via the in-built calendar. - Sleep - Nutrition - Time management - Discipline - Fitness - Personal growth - Mindfulness - Minimalism @blindtigeryoga @tristan__rose @swiss.8 #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #blindtigeryoga #functionalrecovery #swiss8 #betteratlife

16.01.2022 "My parents are going to have to bury me, that's literally what I thought to myself!" There's a lot of emotion in this episode of the Live Train Perform podcast, where I interview my friend Kat from @macrosmusclesmindset and @fitsnax In this episode, I speak with Kat about some of the struggles she has faced over the years with disordered eating, how that shaped her current coaching philosophy, and drove her to build her businesses, FitSnax, and Macros Muscles Mindset.... She also dives into the tools and philosophies that have helped her improve her relationship with food, which is a driving force behind the way that she coaches, and the clientele that she attracts. Kat also touches on a number of resources that she recommends to people to not only work through eating disorders, but to improve their quality of life. 16.01.2022 This will be controversial...but it shouldn't be. If you are offended by this...you probably need to hear it the most! We live in a weak society, and it shows. Objectively speaking, we have more freedom of choice and longer lives than ever in human history, yet we act is if we are the victims. For the most part, our circumstances are those which we have created. ... Tough times make tough people. Tough people make easy times. Easy times make weak people. Weak people make tough times. Once upon a time, humans had to pass through a rite of passage to demonstrate to their tribe that they were ready, and worthy to step up into the next phase of their life. If you passed the test, you survived, and proved your worthiness...you took the next step. If you failed, you were likely killed in the process, or proved you weren't worthy...you didn't take the next step. This is an oversimplification...but the same principles apply. This photo was taken at the start of my rite of passage, a 9-month deployment to Afghanistan. I came back a completely different person, and have been ever since. I recall in the first week or two upon my return, getting into a massive fight with my girlfriend at the time, as she blew up at the waiter for her coffee not being hot enough. I was shocked at her reaction. Then I got angry with how she felt so much injustice! Only weeks earlier, one of our brothers on the Combat Outpost I was stationed for the majority of the deployment, was murdered by an Afghani National Army soldier...the same team of soldiers who were being trained by our Australian warriors, to take control of, and provide security for their own country. Over the years, I have watched as people have reacted to the "injustices" around them. Of course, some of them are legitimate, but most of them are not. "The greatest gift we can give ourselves or others, is the ability to deal with adversity!" #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #swiss8 #betteratlife #mentalhealth #throwbackthursday

16.01.2022 Workout Wednesday SPRINT. JUMP. THROW. In multiple directions. From multiple positions.... Speed. Acceleration and deceleration. Balance. Co-ordination. Timing. Accuracy. Agility. Change of direction. Centre of gravity management. Force transfer. These are all aspects of quality human movement that is often neglected in a typical training program. Strength is important. Power is important. Endurance. Conditioning. Flexibility etc...the list goes on, which I have covered in another post. However, the qualities I have listed above are very technical, and skill intensive, and must be practiced to progress. Add some variations into your training once or twice a week, or better yet, incorporate them into your warm ups every day, and watch every other aspect of your training start to improve dramatically. Choose just one or two of these drills to round out your warm up, and practice a few explosive reps to fire up your CNS and prime your body for your main training session. Final point...don't treat it like a workout...treat it as skill development. Quality over quantity...until you can maintain quality for quantity #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #strength #conditioning #coach #tigermuaythai #balance #coordination #accuracy #timing #agility #stability #speed #power #conditioning

15.01.2022 My mental health is fine, but not where I know it can be for me to be at my best... It's time for a soft reset through this week, to lead into a hard reset this weekend Mindfulness is simply paying attention to how you're feeling right now, being aware that your previous actions have put you in this position, and then adjusting your actions to align with where you want to be.... Ironically, I will be recording my "Mindfulness" episode of the @swiss.8 mini series of the Live Train Perform podcast this week, to be live next Monday. 14.01.2022 "If failure is not an option, then neither is success! Failure is not the opposite of success...it is a part of it." "You're killing it!" "What an awesome life you have!" "You really landed on your feet!"... I hear the above phrases all the time. And it's true. And I'm extremely grateful. But what people don't see is what I gave up, and the chances I took to put myself in this position. I was running my own business for 8 or 9 months of the year, and traveling the world for the other 3 to 4 months every year, with a girl I loved and cared about. We traveled to 40 odd countries together over 5 years, and were looking at our options together for the future. Lauren and I had an open and honest conversation, and realised that what we had envisaged together was no longer as aligned as it once was. I wanted to live in another state or country, and pursue a career working with professional athletes. She wanted to be close to her family and continue building her own business. My opportunities to do this in Tassie were limited, so I needed to consider other options. It was a tough decision, and I questioned it for a long time, but we both agreed that we would much prefer to preserve our friendship, and go our separate ways to pursue our individual needs, rather than making massive compromises that would inevitably lead to resentment. Was I scared? Yep, I was shitting myself, stepping away from my life of the last 5 years, to chase the unknown, with no guarantees. I sold everything I could, then packed up the rest of my gear, road tripped to my mum's place over the course of a few days, dropped my car there and stored everything I owned in the cupboard in her spare bedroom, and tried to figure out what I needed to pack into a travel pack to get me through the next 6 months of my life...with no plan other than a one way ticket to Thailand. "The tragedy of life is often not in our failure, but rather in our complacency; not in our doing too much, but rather in our doing too little; not in our living above our ability, but rather in our living below our capacities." - Benjamin E Mays

11.01.2022 One of my favourite quotes is from Bruce Lee. "Fear not the man who practices 10,000 kicks once, fear the man who practices one kick 10,000 times. This is mastery. People complicate things. This is true for all areas of life, but particularly training and nutrition. They do a lot of shit that sounds good, but realistically provide little to no returns. ... The Pareto principle goes like this: The 80/20 rule, is a theory maintaining that 80 percent of results are going to come from 20% of your efforts, with the remaining 20% of results coming from 80% of your efforts. Marketing has done an excellent job in convincing the masses that they need XYZ supplement pre, intra and post workout, 24 sets for each body part, supported by intermittent fasting and a bulletproof coffee prior to training to get the results they want. That shit sells. And people eat it up. You know what doesn't sell? Getting good quality sleep. Eating wholesome, colourful, natural foods that are eaten in the right amounts, at the right times to support your daily movements, goals and recovery. Simple training programs that have an intent. Consistency and purpose over a long period of time. "Success is the sum of small efforts done day-in, day-out!" I am leading into a rugby tournament in 4 weeks time. Monday, Wednesday and Friday is speed and power based work. Tuesday, Thursday and maybe Saturday is strength and tension work. After my warm up drills, I chose a lower body, and upper body movement, that is difficult but achievable, and set a clock for 20 minutes to practice the skill of movement, and full body tension and control, and got after it. 11.01.2022 I discharged from the Army in 2012 after three deployments in six years. Whilst the structure was in place to train me up from civilian to soldier, the same can not be said going from soldier to civilian. Failure to maintain routine... Isolation... Loss of identity...... Loss of purpose... All Veterans go through this to some extent, on a sliding scale. It can be a very slippery slope, and has led to many of our mates taking their own lives. The current mental health system is reactive, waiting until mental health declines before reacting with a crisis management model. It's time for a preventative tool...a way to maintain and improve mental health. Swiss 8 is changing this current model, to be proactive rather than reactive. We've buried too many of our mates after returning from war. It's time we started sharing the tools and techniques that we have used to redirect our purpose, and our lives. Keep an eye out for your mates, regardless of whether you're/they're a veteran or not. This year has been tough on a lot of people, and I only see the mental health crisis worsening. If you need help, you need to put your hand up, and ask for it. Take control of your own life, and download the @swiss.8 app, which allows you to structure in and schedule 8 important pillars of health and wellness to allow you to be "Better at life." #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #swiss8 #betteratlife

09.01.2022 I've had a number of people reach out and ask for my thoughts on @bespunki #reboot If you know me personally, or have been following me long enough, you will know that I would never endorse a product I don't use, or believe in. I started taking this product when I got back from Australia in March, right as lockdowns and restrictions were kicking off.... My health and immune system was my number one priority. This meant that I prioritised: - sleep - nutrition & hydration - sunshine - stress management & meditation - hormones - gut health - quality movement Reboot helped me achieve, and improve all of the above! As with any quality supplement, it is not a magic pill. If you have a shitty lifestyle, and you are looking for results without putting in any effort, you will be disappointed...just as you would be wasting money on all of the supplements and detox juices stacked up in your cupboard... However... If you look after yourself in a manner that has you eating and sleeping well, training consistently, managing overall health whilst reducing stress, and doing what you know is right the majority of the time, then this product will reinforce and supplement a healthy foundation to give you an edge! Bespunki REBOOT is a clinically-formulated, proprietary blend of 10 natural and organic herbs and active ingredients, to support healthy male hormone levels providing stress-relief, improved strength and stamina, enhanced drive and overall well-being. #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #bespunki #swiss8 #betteratlife

08.01.2022 At the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, The Great War came to an end. The First World War left nine million soldiers dead and 21 million wounded. In addition, at least five million civilians died from disease, starvation, or exposure. The Remembrance Day symbolism of the poppy started with a poem written by a World War I brigade surgeon who was struck by the sight of the red flowers growing on a ravaged, blood soaked battlefield.... In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. - John McCrae Lest we forget

08.01.2022 "Coach, I want to work with you." These were the first words I heard you say, in March 2018. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity. Thank you for allowing me to play a small part in your journey!... @petr_yan #nomercy #siberiangangsta #andnew #ufc #bantamweight #champion

08.01.2022 How many fucks can you fit into a short clip The first installment of the Coaches Corner with @jonletocq is live. We recently had an 80 minute conversation around tips, tricks and strategies to help people navigate through the festive season...but as always, it turned into much more than that.... Your coach can only help you if you help them help you. Sound confusing? It is. But it's not. Listen to the episode to find out what I mean. #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #perfomatyourbest #coachescorner

08.01.2022 The first and last hour of the day are my most important. The last hour before bed is all about winding down, and preparing the brain and body for sleep. The first hour out of bed is all about setting the scene for the day, to start the day on the front foot.... This, for me, means no phone in those hours. I won't get into the science here, because, well...it's Instagram and I understand it's difficult to hold attention for longer than 15 seconds. But...prepare for a good night's sleep by switching off technology, darken and cool your room, and read, journal, meditate etc before bed. And...start your day on your terms, rather than someone else's, by dedicating the first hour of your day to yourself. Stretch, mobilise, move, meditate, read, journal, structure your day, eat a quality breakfast. Win at life! I have a full 51 minute episode on sleep on my podcast, Live Train Perform, episode 24, for anyone wanting to optimise their sleep quality, and subsequently, their life. #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest

07.01.2022 I've had so many great conversations with friends and colleagues about what we see happening in the fitness industry, and thought to myself, "I wish we recorded that." ...so that's exactly what the Coaches Corner is about. Join me for the second part of a conversation I had with my mate Marshall, of Anvil Training and Development, as we discuss some of the biggest mistakes people consistently make when they first seek us out as coaches, and how to create quality movement patt...erns through intentional movement. Thanks brother, always a pleasure talking shop @blindkratos @anvil.td Listen on all podcast listening platforms. 05.01.2022 I don't know who needs to hear this, but... Rather than looking forward to your next holiday or break, set up a life that you don't need to escape from...and that starts with the thoughts you allow to impact your behaviours. #livetrainperformpodcast... #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #swiss8 #betteratlife See more

04.01.2022 Tomorrow's episode of the Live Train Perform Podcast is part 2 of my interview with @the.robmorgan I met Rob in 2015 when he was a coach at Unit 27, in Phuket, Thailand. In part 1 of this interview, we discussed how his Military career shaped his coaching style and philosophy, and the evolution of the lessons he had learned to build his own Coaching business: KIS Fitness.... In today's follow up episode, we dive headfirst into his journey as a coach, a businessman, a partner, a father, and a husband. We touch on the underlying values that have guided him through the last five years of his life, and provide some practical advice for dealing with setbacks, and creating a positive mindset to deal with the failures that inevitably come up throughout our lives. Strap in, have a notepad and pen handy, and make sure you follow him on his coaching platforms! 01.01.2022 Give the body the stress...then pay attention. If it responds, it's what it wants. If it doesn't, its not what it needs. I pretty much drank all weekend...and barely ate.... I watched a heap of rugby games, caught up with friends, and had a friend and athlete that I've worked with win a UFC title. I am human. I do the right thing the majority of the time, which allows to me to let my hair down whenever I feel like it...within reason. Yesterday, I felt like shit. I didn't train, but I did do things that I knew would help with my recovery. Plenty of water. Quality food in adequate amounts. Sunshine. Tick a few boxes in regards to "achievements" for the day. Rest and recover. Today was all about putting myself back on the front foot. My training was 18mins of quality movement based work. I moved because I care about myself, and I want to re-establish the connection that movement makes me feel good. I didn't train to punish myself. I walked out of the gym feeling better than when I walked in, ready to get after the rest of the day. "Consistency over intensity!" #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest

01.01.2022 Time is our most precious commodity...it is the one thing that once gone, we can never get back! I'm currently recording a podcast episode based on time management, and it has me thinking deeply about how to best present the importance of how to effectively manage your time to build and live the life that you want. Live Train Perform Podcast episode 26: @swiss.8 Mini Series: Time Management, will be live on Monday ... #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #swiss8 #miniseries #timemanagement

01.01.2022 In this short episode of the Live Train Perform Podcast, I reflect on what I've been reading and watching over the past weeks and months, and reflect on the principles I've learned along the way, as well as how I've implemented them into my own life. Today's focus of reflection is based around leadership. I've just finished reading "The dichotomy of leadership" by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, and it got me thinking about influential leaders I've had in my life, and how they ...have influenced me and shaped my leadership style. Episode will be live on all podcast listening platforms tomorrow #performancefunctionaltraining #livetrainperform #livetrainperformpodcast #livelifetothefullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #reflections #leadership
