25.01.2022 How much rain have you had recently? Just a few weeks ago these pastures were basically brown.. it's amazing to see how quickly everything responds to a bit of moisture Happy hens this morning thoroughly enjoying the fresh greenery that the summer rain has brought!

24.01.2022 It's time to officially introduce our new season 2020 Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil! It is Extra Virgin and Cold Pressed, we use our laying hens running under the trees to help us manage weeds and insect pests... As well as fertilize the trees and give us eggs as they go We only sell from the Albany Farmers Market and from Home as it's so popular we can only produce enough for us to sell over the course of the year. ... We're finished for the season now, hope your all well and I know there's a few of you out there happy to see this back in stock Many thanks to you all, Piacun Farm

24.01.2022 I bet everyone enjoying that bit of sunshine As things are warming up, we are warming up. Shedding our winter coats in preparation for the warmer months ahead.... Getting up that bit earlier, soaking up every inch of sunshine. The hens are happier and the veggie beds need preparation. Now the real work begins, Spring is in the air - Steven Piacun

24.01.2022 Safe to say we got a few olives picked before this storm hit! They'll be pressed soon and fresh 2020 oil will be available soon after! Hope you all stay safe, well, and warm! All the best from Piacun Farm #amazingalbany #oliveharvest #autumnstorm @ Albany, Western Australia

24.01.2022 One of our market early birds We are extremely thankful for all the support we continue to get even over winter. Without you market regulars it wouldn't be possible to do what we do ... Former farmer of Katanning, now week after week he comes early to make sure he's first inline for our wonderful eggs Usually sporting his hang 10 cap but given the current weather I think the beanie is a much wiser choice

23.01.2022 Nic at Due South is an amazing chef and has worked hard to bring out the takeaway menu! They have supported us extremely well over the last year, so maybe we can all help support them too?

23.01.2022 Meet 2 of our beautiful Maremma Livestock Guardians Honestly, they are worth their weight in gold and we love them so much.. ... Several years ago we had massive problems with foxes killing our chooks. Ever since we have had these guys it's been no more foxes! Our hens are free to lay their eggs in peace! Some of you might have already met them

23.01.2022 Steven did a little interview with the Guardian Australia.. Some of you may have seen it on Instagram already but here it is anyway Bit of a Sunday read.. enjoy

22.01.2022 Looks like Mark is keen for his big Boonters Joys of having friends in high places ay Mark Saturday markets are still on people! A good variety of produce at the moment and give it another month or 2 the amazing summer produce will start kicking in ... We made it through winter together, now let's rock summer #amazingalbany #albanyfarmersmarket #justanotherdayinwa #albanyfood #albanylocals

21.01.2022 Had some help all the way from Milano today! . Roberto and Giussy are visiting their daughter Chiara at the moment so all three came past to help! . Thankyou all so much for your help and support, grazie from us all and enjoy your produce @ Albany, Western Australia

21.01.2022 Happy hens It struck me recently that I probably don't share and promote enough chook and egg content on our social medias.. I hope to use these platforms to educate as to why we do the eggs and why we do them the way we do them. ... It's definitely not an easy job and takes large amount of sacrifice. But we are glad that they are so well loved by so many people #amazingalbany

20.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR

20.01.2022 Spinach is back again this week! Albany Farmers Market Western Australia Along with beautiful Looseleaf Lettuce, Mustard Greens and a good dose of Rocket. ... 20.01.2022 Last Wednesday we took a break and set out as a family to visit our friend Robert Tozer at Tozers Bush Camp near Bremer Bay. It's been a long time since we've been able to do anything all together as a family and we even managed to pick up some extra friends along the way. It was a true blessing to be able to unwind on this adventure, and also have some space to think. ... Many thanks to Robert who took the time to show us his Queen of Sheeba Orchid. Albany has been blessed this year by the abundance of rain, however not too far away the paddocks brown and drought is a reality. Please consider this before having negative thoughts about our rain.

19.01.2022 A few action shots from this afternoons olive pick... Enjoy #amazingalbany

14.01.2022 Our very first batch of CELERY that we've ever grown! Another achievement hit this year and a pretty tasty one too! Yesterday was Are You OK? day, it's pretty big in Australia and yes it definitely is important. I keep and eye on a handful of close mates and if I get the vibe that their struggling, I make sure they talk. This can be hard to do when you yourself are struggling. However it's a true blessing to know that these mates also do the same you when you need it. ... I guess that's part of being in a community. One reason why we love doing the farmers markets because it gives us a deeper involvement in the wider community. At school I was the chubby kid with the high pitched voice and my "friends" at the time made sure I knew that. There are times when I don't feel worthy enough to have a voice on social media. So when I say "thankyou for your support, it's been amazing" that's exactly what I mean! It has been amazing! Amazing to us and we honestly appreciate both it and you so much! - Steven Piacun

14.01.2022 Meet the Mosterts! For the last two weeks we have welcomed them as new faces at the @albanyfarmersmarket . 14.01.2022 It's beautiful having customers who are farmers themselves and know what living on the land is like. Ebenezer here is currently working on a farm out Nyabing and enjoys picking up his family's fortnightly order of fresh eggs on his one day off Him and his wife, Gifty, have been involved with agriculture their whole lives. From raising pigs and chickens to growing gardens full of okra ... The farming community truely is an beautiful thing, connecting beautiful likeminded people across Australia

10.01.2022 Work smarter not harder they say haha #amazingalbany #goats #pastureraisedeggs

09.01.2022 Our very first commercial harvest of broad beans was done today You may think like what's the fuss?!? But honestly there is hardly a better vegetable to cook the Croatian way.. fresh broad beans, home grown olive oil, GARLIC, salt and pepper annnd maybe a little bit red wine So simple yet so good, it basically is the taste of childhood memories at Baba or big Nonna's house in winter/spring ... Kicking myself that we didn't plant another 3 rows Unfortunately we won't have many to sell as most of these are sold already.. Oh and excuse those weeds in the second photo The Croats call them Bob! How great is that #amazingalbany #broadbeans #bob #hrvatski #justanotherdayinwa #australianagriculture #croatianaustralian

07.01.2022 We're stealing your grandad @bathgatefarm This morning we had Grandpa Bathgate stop by for some honey and eggs and couldn't help but have a cuddle with little Timothy Then again who wouldn't ... @bathgateandrew #amazingalbany #farmingfriends See more

07.01.2022 Last week we did our first summer planting, and yes it is early yet. It's always a bit of a gamble planting things this early as a simple swing in weather could make the young veggie plants stick their head back under Pictured here are our first grape tomatoes and the bed prep it involves.. ... At our current stage of growing it's all done by hand, so trust me it's a bit of an effort To hopefully prevent future weeds in the coming season, we used a reusable plastic mulch. Now we know it's not perfect but at least we can reuse it many times. It feels unbelievably good to have that little bit of extra heat though and creates a much more positive outlook... Especially being able to tackle a good swim on the warmer days

07.01.2022 Daniel and Simone have been mentoring us and helping us as we have started on our journey growing vegetables..
