23.01.2022 Happy Easter everybody. Today I have a real old school classic. Having said that it's still one of the most popular plants out there. The Golden Cane Palm. Some people love it, some hate it but bang for buck it ticks a lot of boxes. It's a clumping palm that can be used pretty much anywhere. Uses include full sun, light shade, tropical garden, indoor or outdoor potplant and makes the best screen. It's one of the toughest palms on the market and will look good on little or no ...attention. Of course if you give it a love it will look amazing. It will grow anywhere from 3 to 6m in the garden but in a pot it will only grow as big as the pot will allow it which makes it a very popular pot plant. We specialise in Golden Canes and grow them in the thousands. We have a few different sizes available but our most popular is the 200mm pot size. These palms are well over a metre in the pot and are grown in the full sun making them very adaptable to any situation. We have them available to the public for $12.00 each and you will be hard pressed to find this quality for this price. In other words the public just don't see these prices. Check out some pics and call me. Cheers Tom Plants Of Palmwoods 0448281508 See more

15.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone. So today I have something a bit different for you. It's a look into the life line of a Lilly Pilly Resilience in our nursery and the different stages it goes through before it's ready for sale. First we get our Lilly pillys as trays of tubestock. Then we trim, stake and pot them on to 130mm pots. After a short period of growing we then trim, stake and pot them on again into 200mm pots where they are again left to grow and thicken up for sale. From there... they will either be sold or trimmed and potted on again into 300mm pots. As you can see it's a very labour and time intensive program that's designed to bring you the best full sun grown product on the market. We use a custom design potting media that is pH balanced with spefic added extra nutrients. In other words 'our secret recipe'. All our Lilly Pillys come with approximately 6 months slow release fertiliser which means that all you have to do is put it in the ground and water it. You can follow the time line with the pics I have attached. As you can see we have a few available so don't be shy. Cheers Tom. Plants Of Palmwoods. See more

13.01.2022 Hi all, sorry I've been a bit lazy the last week but I have a beautiful plant to feature today. The Ixora Prince Of Orange. This is a small evergreen shrub reaching no more than 2m in height. It is quite a dense shrub with glossy green foilage that produces many clusters of orange flowers that are just coming into bloom right now. They like a partially shaded position however we grow them in the full sun so they are more tolerant then you think. They also make a nice indoor pot plant when grown in a well lit area. As you can can see from my pics our plants are full of buds and ready to bloom any tick of the clock. So for $10.00 each you can easily brighten your garden up in winter. 11.01.2022 Hey all, Philodendron Rojo Congo. A very popular variety of Philodendron which ticks all the boxes for a tropical garden. As it only grows 1.2m x 1.2m it is great for any size garden from the courtyard to the big backyard. It loves shady spot so an indoor pot plant is also a very good option for this plant. At $10.00 each you won't be disappointed.

03.01.2022 Hey all, today's plant is the Camellia sasanqua Jennifer Susan. This particular Camellia is a very showy plant that only gets to about 3m tall. It has dense small leafed bright green foilage that can be shaped, hedged or used as a stand alone specimen plant. The flowers are obviously the the selling point of this plant as they are pale pink double rose and they stand out like the proverbial. In fact they come into flower in autumn to early winter which means that they are covered in flower buds right now. Our camellias are pruned for shape and to encourage new growth and flowers. They are looking fantastic and are a giveaway at $15.00 each. Buy your mum one or your sister or brother or your neighbour or maybe just buy one for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Cheers Tom Plants Of Palmwoods 0448281508

02.01.2022 Hi all, today I have another aussie classic for you. Murraya paniculata, or more commonly known as Mock Orange. This is due to the fact that the small white flowers that are produced in abundance have a distinct orange / citrus aroma. They are a native to Australia and endemic to this area. Most commonly grown as a hedge they also make a lovely stand alone shrub reaching up to about 3m in height. They are definitely one of the most popular plants in the nursery and that's fair enough as they only cost $5.00 for a 130mm pot or $10.00 for a 200mm pot.
