22.01.2022 A bottle with a story to tell. Like so many that end up in the waterways and ocean. 1 million bottles are used a min. Most end up on landfill. CONGRATS!! @cocacola, I'm sure you're so proud to be named the WORST plastic polluter in the world for the 3rd year in a row by NGO @breakfreefromplastic. If you love soda, I've got a few tips for you to avoid single-use plastic bottles!... But, first a shout out to @meg_haywoodsullivan who took this amazing photo. 1. Fill your own cup at a soda fountain 2. Try a substitute drink like kombucha or sparkling water 3. Invest in a sparkling water machine 4. Opt for a can instead of a bottle I like cans because aluminum is the MOST recyclable material. Aluminum recycling is so efficient that a can can go from curbside recycling bin back to the store shelf in 90 days. If you choose cans, opt for the ones in a cardboard sleeve, but if you wind up with plastic rings please make sure you cut them! Are you a big soda drinker? 12.01.2022 I stand in solidarity with my friends, family, and fellow nature preservers in Europe. I hear you here in Byron Bay, Australia. We are all part of the same planet. Our town is by the ocean, the ocean that connects us to the rest of the world. The ocean where coral reefs are fighting g for survival against coral bleaching events. The ocean connects us to islander people that depend on the 25% of fish that call those coral reefs home. Millions of people are going to be threaten...ed to become climate refugees. While the privileged call this town our home, celebrities, wealthy people, who benefit from a still beautiful looking ecosystem. We have this opportunity to all step up now to take a stand and preserve, not only for our individual lifestyle here but for all sentient beings who call this planet home. Being face to face with such an intelligent creature is some thing extremely special! Octubuses are one of the most highest IQ animals on the PLANET!
