23.01.2022 New post up on the blog about the benefits of Therapeutic Songwriting. "The feeling of pride and accomplishment and wonder which is evident when a person creates music which is an original expression of self is priceless. " https://www.playanything.com.au//online-songwriting-an-opp

22.01.2022 Online Visual Schedule I just wanted to share a little app I created which I've been using during online music therapy sessions. It's a browser based visual schedule. When you check an activity as completed it plays a *success sound*... Using visual schedules can help to increase focus and engagement. And it's so satisfying when you can tick the checkbox as completed! I've created a short video demonstrating how to use this app. The app should work on most desktop computers. You just need to open up a browser and enter the app's URL. It's not currently optimised for phone or tablet but I'll try to figure that out this week sometime. I'd love to hear if you use this, how you find it. Any feedback or suggestions are super welcome! https://thisistheplan.bubbleapps.io/ https://youtu.be/DqR83Lab9Ek

22.01.2022 Amazing stuff from Rock n Rhyme at Newcastle Libraries! Video starts around the 2 minute 30 second mark.

20.01.2022 Absolutely stoked to be featured on Welcome to Day One as a regional entrepreneur! I'm so glad to be able to advocate for music therapy and especially to raise awareness about music therapy in regional communities. Thank you Alexandra Morris for interviewing me! And B Fox Phelan for the photo

19.01.2022 Exciting news! My first Android App is now live on Google Play. After seeing wayyyyyyy too many apps currently out there which are just full of ads, or not well designed to assist with learning, or expensive, I decided to start creating my own. This first app is called Pentatonic Piano - It makes use of an easy to use and intuitive layout consisting of five coloured keyboard notes. ... It's not perfect, but I am stoked that I am able to share this now with you, and with anyone in the world that has an Android phone. And for Apple users - I'll be uploading some apps to the App Store in the next two weeks! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details

18.01.2022 I love making apps! Here is a little pink noise player I've created. Pink noise is great for sound-masking, tinnitus, falling asleep, study.

14.01.2022 As we draw towards the end of 2020 I think it's a nice moment to pause and reflect on how well we have all done to adapt, and change and grow in the face of what has been a really challenging year for many people. I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and grow with so many wonderful people this year. Thank you for sharing this journey! With the end of year hecticness upon us, and Christmas just around the corner I decided to create a Relaxing Piano P...laylist. Hope it brings a little moment of quietude and joy to your day. 12.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE PLEASE READ As I’m sure you are well aware, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread rapidly around the globe, resulting in increased measures to slow the spread of coronavirus in Australia. Play Anything Music Therapy is committed to maintaining a high standard of care for all clients while ensuring that clients are able to continue accessing music therapy at this challenging time. Ensuring the safety of the people I work with is my number one priority. ... After careful consideration I have decided that I will be temporarily putting on hold all face-to-face sessions effective Monday 23rd March. This was a difficult decision to make but ultimately I want to ensure that I do everything I possibly can to ensure the people I support are safe and well. Please note this is purely a precautionary measure. ------- To meet the challenges of the current situation I will be: + Offering online sessions for all clients. + Providing skill building sessions for parents and carers. + Providing a range of free music resources and materials which can be accessed on my website. + Posting instrument packs to homes as needed. + Updating Treatment Plans to ensure that music therapy delivered online continues to assist you in reaching your goals. ------- ONLINE SESSIONS I have been delivering online sessions for a number of clients over the past 12 months. Over this period I have developed a range of resources and activities which have proven effective, easy to use and simple to access. 10.01.2022 As part of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's role in improving the quality and safety of NDIS supports all NDIS providers are required to complete an audit process. Although the audit process has required a lot of time and effort (and money) I am SO glad that this process exists. At the end of the day it's about ensuring that participants receive an excellent level of service and are protected. Play Anything is fully committed to upholding the NDIS Code of Conduc...t and providing an outstanding service to all participants. I look forward to the ongoing journey of continuing to work to improve processes and procedures - I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn every single day. Huge thank you to Chantelle, Melissa and the team at the The Business Centre for all your help throughout the process.

Contributors will be gratefully acknowledged on the artwork. Or you can remain anonymous if you'd prefer. Either message me on here or email to [email protected] A million thanks <3

05.01.2022 I have returned to my old favourites - Bach, Mozart, Debussy. I have recorded a selection of piano pieces which I think fit just right for studying, relaxing, winding down. The pieces are played slowly, much slower than most other recordings you would find. Playing slowly allows the listener time to hear each note clearly, and discern subtle chord changes. I'll be uploading a new track each day for the rest of this week. Today is Mozart! ... https://hiddensky.bandcamp.com/album/slow-classical-piano-2 See more
