19.01.2022 Through the Windows at Point Cook Manor. It’s been a frustrating few months for our Residents and Families at Point Cook Manor. Covid19 precautions have made regular family catch ups difficult, and as the Western suburbs have been heavily impacted during this second wave, even more so. Our Families have been exceptionally understanding during this difficult time, that the safety of our Residents must be everyone’s top priority and they have enthusiastically adapted normal vis...iting routines to embrace new technologies such as Zoom, What’s App and Facetime, as well as enjoying touching window visits. We have also experienced a wonderful revival of letter writing amongst our Residents and Families, with handwritten notes, drawings and photos, emails and care packages being dropped off daily for our dedicated Lifestyle team to share with loved ones. If you would like to chat with our fantastic Lifestyle team about ways to keep in touch with your loved one during this temporary period of isolation, please call 9394 2500 seven days a week to speak with one of our team members or email [email protected] any time to request more information. Stay Safe & Take Care

14.01.2022 Happy Hour!I It’s Friday, so let’s all raise a toast! A glass of wine or a freshly poured beer, cheese and crackers, delicious hot pastries, music and all the latest gossip Happy Hour is a wonderful tradition to celebrate the end of the week.... Even during Covid19’s safe social distancing rules, our fabulous Lifestyle team have managed to find a way for this beloved social event to continue. Smaller groups, a strategically placed table between chairs, and taking full advantage of the wide variety of music from their Golden Memories Karaoke collection which gives our Residents an opportunity to enjoy a hearty sing along while still following all current Covid 19 safety protocolsFridays are still a cause to celebrate! We’re very lucky that some of our Residents even use the occasion to treat us all to some delicious goodies such as homemade traditional pizzas which they’ve whipped up with the assistance of Staff in our onsite Cooking Room! Cheers to the end of the week from Point Cook Manor!

12.01.2022 Meet Sue! Sue is a founding member of the Point Cook family. She’s been such a force of nature for our Residents and team that she was awarded a Percepter role as recognition for her efforts to always continuously improve her already high standards of team work, excellence and making sure our home is always at it’s very best. Sue was born and raised in Werribee and has lived locally her entire life. She fondly remembers the days that a trip to the local Denny’s was the high...light of the social season Sue has five children and is a grandmother of ten! She loves to travel, and plans to see as much of the world as she can. During this difficult time of Covid 19, Sue and our team of fabulous cleaners are working harder than ever to keep our Residents safe, happy and healthy, and it’s due to their tireless efforts that we have been able to continue to safely welcome visitors into our home!

12.01.2022 Meet Diana! Diana runs our onsite cafe, Terry’s. Diana has worked for Homestyle for almost five years and has over thirty years in the café and hospitality industry.... She’s an active member of the local Lions Club and has herself been involved in a number of wonderful events the Lions have produced for our Residents and staff at Point Cook Manor, including a visiting baby animal farm and planter boxes for balconies. She is also a lifelong Demons fan but doesn’t really like to talk about that! Di loves opening the café each day and chatting with our Residents, staff, and families. Freshly made salads, cakes, sandwiches and focaccias, slices and biscuits are always on the menu at Terry’s and gift cards for residents, staff and families are available for purchase through our friendly administration team. For families new and old, a visit to Point Cook Manor just wouldn’t be complete without a chat and a coffee with Diana.

10.01.2022 Homestyle Aged Care is excited to announce we are rolling out new interactive technology across all our homes to provide a fully immersive and engaging experience for our residents living with dementia. ’The Virtual Forest’ program is a peaceful and enjoyable experience, transporting users to an explorative, engaging and empowering environment of an expansive park-like setting on a screen, where seasons can be changed with a wave or the clap of hands with a motion sensor! The experience is designed to give back some control to people living with dementia. This can be used as a personal experience or shared with carers and residents alike. As well as being a stimulating experience, it also encourages users to communicate with others.

03.01.2022 Our Residents and Lifestyle Co-ordinators worked together on a very special project recently. A 'Tree of Life' Painting was derived from our residents fingerprints. The art piece was a Lifestyle Project undertaken involving each resident during isolation.... Not all residents could place their actual fingerprint on the painting due to existing hand problems, but were included by choosing their fingerprint colour and watching the print being made. The 'Tree of Life' Painting has been placed in our 'Sunshine Room' for all to see and enjoy.
