18.01.2022 Combined Christmas party hosted by the Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand with the Inner Wheel Club of Williamstown and the Rotary Club of Williamstown. Thanks to President Mary Soppitt (IW) for the brainwave to have a combined party, which left us all wondering why its taken 30 years for it to happen! Have a Merry Christmas, and a safe and happy New Year.

15.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand Williamstown held their Annual Changeover Dinner at 1 The Strand Williamstown on Friday 29th June. Outgoing President John Allcock handed over to incoming President Mick Trezise. PP Kevin Gunn was awarded a Paul Harris Sapphire and Kay Didenkowski received the Russell Soppitt Award. Another highlight of the evening was the surprise induction of Michele Breed. Congratulations Michele, and welcome to the Club!

11.01.2022 District Governor Grant Hocking and his wife Melissa visited our Club this evening, together with Assistant Governor Patrick Docherty. Grant gave an inspiring talk on Club direction, which is timely considering our new member drive.

10.01.2022 We were privileged to have Jim Markovski, Gum and 9 friends from the 20th Man Fund join us for dinner at our meeting last night. A number of them recently hiked the Kokoda Track together with a group of Victoria Police who sponsored the trip. They told us of their challenging journey, and what it meant to them. A really positive experience for all!

08.01.2022 Instead of our normal dinner meeting we participated in a cluster club food packaging night at the Yarraville Community Centre. The ForaMeal project is organised by the Rotary Club of Canterbury. Each emergency relief parcel contains basic daily dietary requirements and are sent to disaster prone countries in the Asia Pacific region.

08.01.2022 We had a great night last night at the Williamstown Italian Social Club with a combined Christmas party for The Inner Wheel Club of Williamstown Inc., Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand and Rotary Club of Williamstown. Thanks to Glennis Vanderwarker, President of the biggest IW club in Australia, and her team for organising a wonderful event. We were entertained by the Ukulele Dolls, and thanks to Ellie Horsey for providing the Apple Christmas Tree which was auctioned by Kevin Gunn and sold to Bruce McCraken.

07.01.2022 Join us at the Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club with renowned speaker Lyn Swinburne AM to raise money for breast cancer research on Tuesday 26th September.

07.01.2022 Last night the Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand Williamstown held their Changeover at No. 1 The Strand. Outgoing President Mick Trezise handed over his position to an enthusiastic incoming President Mario Vella. Congratulations to Ron Coleman on being awarded a Paul Harris Sapphire (as Ron was unable to be there it will be presented at a later date). Russell Soppitt awards were given to Richard McKay and Mario Vella. All the awards were in recognition for their work on the Big Bay Swim.

07.01.2022 Last night was our annual changeover with everyone getting on board the Canadian theme. President Bruce McCraken handed over to incoming President John Allcock. John Heriot was inducted as a member (for a second time being part of our club many years ago). Congratulations to Mario Vella who received a Paul Harris Sapphire for his work as director of the Jalna Big Bay Swim. PR Soppitt awards were presented to Geoff King for his work as secretary and Doug Bews for Beacon editor. Well done guys!

03.01.2022 Due to Covid-19 restrictions at the moment, we cannot meet at the Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club for our regular Tuesday night meetings. We are in contact with our members via email and zoom meetings and are working on projects and ideas for the remainder of 2020. We hope all our members, family and friends keep safe and well during these unpredictable times.

01.01.2022 Rotary Club of Point Gellibrand held their 7th Annual Pink Breakfast this morning. The event was a sell out and a great success. All funds raised will go The Walter & Eliza Hall Institute, National Breast Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Network Australia. Our fabulous guest speaker was Lyn Swinburne who spoke from the heart and was truly inspirational. Thanks also to Fiona Zammit, our MC.
