15.01.2022 What a lovely chimney! This contrasting brick element was always a favourite of mine in this lovely all black weatherboard house. So pleased to visit #thehouseamongthetrees now that construction is complete; and it is so rewarding to see how little an impact it really has on the streetscape (as per all of my expectations). This beach house kitchen for #thekingshouses has always been a favourite for its modernist simplicity and yet boldness and warmth.... This is what to do when a client loves colour but also wants something that can stand the test of time. The ceiling can easily be painted anytime to dramatically change the mood in the space but the key elements - beautiful materials and classic warm off white cabinets - can work with many different decors. 06.01.2022 Just look at these materials I am so fussy about making design decisions - I can't stand the thought of it ending up not quite right - it makes me a bit of a slow worker but I guess that's life! 03.01.2022 We have a lot of lovely projects that need photographing... #thehouseamongthetrees is just one, and one of my favourites I think we can all agree that our hard fought battle with Maitland council to build the only contemporary 2 storey dwelling in the picturesque heritage conservation area of Lorn was rightfully won; the house sits perfectly quietly among the trees, and unless you're looking for it, it's all but invisible from the street.
