19.01.2022 We have been conditioned to thinking failure is bad. That’s left us avoiding any activity that may lead to failure. Problem with that is, we stop trying.... We sit inside our comfortable bubble (often throwing mud at those attempting to move outside that comfort bubble) and think that it’s better not to try than it is to try and fail. Here’s some classic examples we see: I’m not going to join the gym because I don’t know what to do and people will laugh at me. I’ve tried to eat better before but it didn’t last. I’ll do it when I (enter shit excuse) That’s not me. I can’t do that. All this negative self talk comes from a fear of failure. What if we looked at failure in a different light. What if we saw failure as an opportunity to learn. An opportunity to do better. An opportunity to be excited about, not feared of. Failure is your feedback. Failure is your education into how to do better next time. Don’t fear failure, fear standing still.

09.01.2022 Often we can fool ourselves into why we’ve gained weight. Some of the most recent ones I’ve heard are: I’ve changed from skim to full cream I’m having 2 eggs instead of 1... I think it’s the diet drinks I did have a cheese burger the other day When you understand that to gain significant amounts of body fat, there needs to be an increase in calories in the tens of thousands (10’000s), then you could see why these examples are a little laughable. The truth is, all these additional calories often come from unsuspecting habits we have. Here are just a few of the most common places people tend to get large influxes of calories in their diet (and no, it’s not Ronalds fault.... 99% of the time).

08.01.2022 Exercise can be a great supplemental tool to help with a fat-loss goal but..... it shouldn’t be your main strategy. Your main strategy should be focused around your diet & lifestyle. Making sure you are adding more whole foods into your diet to give you a much better shot at achieving a calorie deficit over the long term.... Fixing your sleep habits to feel more energized throughout the day, in turn leading to better food choices. Taking time to pre-prepare meals for those times you tend to make poor choices. And then looking to supplement with strength training and/or cardio to help assist these other core strategies. Happy days.
