21.01.2022 July Holiday Read - Book 7. Wambu Series of 3 set in native PNG. See book review of series here http://anniekateshomeschoolreviews.com//review-wambu-tril/. Conclusion of review : We highly recommend the Wambu trilogy for its exciting story, the glimpse into missionary work, and the vivid description of Papua New Guinea. Although technically the three books Wambu: The Chieftains Son, Wambu: In the Valley of Death, and Wambu: Journey to Manhood could be read independently, they are more enjoyable when read in sequence. This trilogy makes a superb family read aloud for ages 9 and up, and is inspiring to adults as well.

21.01.2022 Martin Luther’s wife was a remarkable woman who worked tirelessly to care for her husband, her children, many students and the community. Her story shows how God used her as an instrument to further His Church.

21.01.2022 A beautiful Church history resource, Reformation Heroes is a valuable introduction to important figures in the Reformation. The stories told are inspiring and encouraging - and should be remembered among us as evidences of the grace of God at work. ( quote from Godfrey, WR in Ref Heroes). Remember Reformation Day 31 Oct.

19.01.2022 Have you read this incredible memoir of Dr SG Hur? A minister in one of the Free Reformed Churches for many years, this quiet, unassuming, faithful Korean man touched many lives. A short read, just a little over 120 pages, it tells of his childhood as a farm village boy, the influence of his parents, his education in Korean and the sacrifices made to study in the Netherlands and lots more. A worthwhile read, with a worthy title Pilgrimage: by grace alone.

19.01.2022 At the end of this week, the last day of October, the Christian calendar marks Reformation Day. 31st Oct 1517 is the day Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of Wittenberg Church, a set of questions about the sale of indulgences and other matters of sin and repentance. Read about it in this beautifully illustrated biography for young readers by Simonetta Carr.

12.01.2022 Review of Wherever you go I want you to know by Melissa Kruger. Kids love to dream about what they might do when they grow up: jobs they might have, places they might go, people they might meet. And parents and caregivers love to encourage and support them. But for Christian parents, their greatest aspiration for their children, their dream of all dreams, is that whatever their kids do and wherever they go, they will love and follow Jesus.... As children embark on life's journey with all their potential and aspirations, express to them your biggest dream with this beautiful illustrated rhyming children's book. As well as teaching children about the only thing that really matters in life, this book also reminds parents that telling their kids about Jesus is more important than anything else. https://books.google.com.au//Wherever_You_Go_I_Want_You_to Available in store or order www.proecclesia. com.au $14.99

06.01.2022 On discovering the meaning of this verse in Romans 1:17, Martin Luther was overjoyed to know that righteousness is a gift from God in Jesus Christ. The doctrine of justification by faith alone - the foundation of the reformed faith. Read about Martin Luther, his struggles and triumphs, in the many church history books found on our shelves.

05.01.2022 Surprised by Oxford by Carolyn Weber was reviewed by Rebecca at the recent Book Review and Fellowhip morning. What she says about this book: I love this book - the writing style, the fact that its autobiographical, the humour in it. Most of all I loved reading the story of how God orchestrated so many details in Carolyns life -in the people she meets, in her conversations, in her own family members - every detail, to bring her to Him. Its simply amazing! . Copies are available now.

05.01.2022 In the past months we have been encouraged by our church leaders to reach out to the lonely, the isolated, the stuck-at-homes, the stressed and the anxious. These two books by Ed Welch encourage us to reach out and care for each other, but also to be able to share our own needs with others. To be needy and needed. Both supported and supporting. 03.01.2022 Reformation Day today! Luther wrote many hymns to bring God’s word on the lips of His people. A mighty fortress is our God is based on Psalm 46. Music played a large part in Luther’s life and family and he worked hard to bring congregational singing back into the church. He said: Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world. Listen to this famous hymn and join your voice to the choir to sing praise to Him who is Faithful . See in store for music CD’s of hymns and psalms to add to your collection. https://m.youtube.com/watch
