25.01.2022 Provider welcomes 1616 Arita. Dating back to 1616, Arita-yaki is a type of Japanese pottery that finds its roots in the ancient ceramic town of Arita, located on Kyushu Island in southern Japan. Founded by designer and creative director Teruhiro Yanagihara in 2012, he named the brand after its origins. 1616 Arita stands for contemporary products that can be used everyday, though made with the extraordinary workmanship, thinness and strength of original Arita ware.... Available in store and online. Pics @nicktsindos

24.01.2022 Friends of Provider This is Arash. Hes been a friend of ours for many many years, well before we had a shop and wed do pop ups and markets. Hes a fun and loveable legend who sometimes pops in when we are busy to help us trim candle wicks

24.01.2022 Our favourite coffee pour overs and candles are back into stock, featuring a new addition. These will always have a special place at Provider. Many years ago when we would travel to Bangkok a lot, we decided to take a detour one day to try find this store. We had no GPS to direct us so we wandered aimlessly around Khlong Toei (a suburb similar to Surry Hills) until a trendy Thai man approached us and asked if we needed help. Showing him a picture of the store, his face lit up... and he told us the owner was his friend and he walked us there. Upon arrival we met Mint. The lovely owner who we instantly bonded with and since that day we have worked together to make these ceramics for Provider. Each piece is hand crafted in a small workshop in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand). For those who haven’t visited that area or Thailand, it’s a place full of makers, designers, indigo dying, vintage clothing and incredible homewares. Made to be both artful and functional, they feature glazing reminiscent of 70ms Australian pottery. Find your coffee filters and pinch candles online and in store. See more

06.01.2022 Did you know we still pour every candle in our Surry Hills studio? From what started in our kitchen six years ago, to now producing candles in our small space that sell to stores around the world, weve ensured that everything is still very hands on. We keep it natural when it comes to materials and dont compromise our principles for quick production. We use a pure (palm oil free) soy wax thats from Melbourne and work with a local scent maker for all seven of our unique fragrances. All our ceramics cups are crafted by hand, predominately in Japan. The idea was that life of your candle would extend beyond the final burn. Simple bring it back to our store for a refill or repurpose it as your favourite cup. Explore our collection of candles in store and online or for those far and wide, please contact us for our stockist list

02.01.2022 If you stand on a rooftop in Tokyo, sunshine or rain, the city doesnt seem to end. The word to describe the feeling when looking out over this amazing place is Sonder; The profound feeling of realising that everyone, including strangers passed in the street, has a life as complex as ones own.

02.01.2022 Last year we went to Nara and met the lovely people at Yoshitatsu. They individually hand craft chopsticks from Yoshino cedar with an aim to have little environmental impact.
