25.01.2022 I took a few hives further south the other night. Hopefully we will pick up some honey from these hives soon, the conditions look favourable at the moment.

12.01.2022 We are starting to get some nice queen cells going that will go into breeding nucs in the next couple of days. We put one cell into a queenless hive, then the queen hatches and goes on a mating flight and starts laying. A new queen lays up to 2000 eggs a day.

11.01.2022 Do you know what to do if you or someone you know is stung by a bee? Most of the time the beestings have no serious side effects, they just bloody hurt but to some people, it can be life-threatening.

10.01.2022 Toby and his mum have been excited to receive their bees and eagerly learning as much as they could about beekeeping and on Thursday we delivered. I completed a hive transfer and training showing him through the hive and what to look for. Have a look at the setup. It has to be one of the best I've seen. They had been busy planting Manuka Trees and passionfruit vines in the area surrounding the hive which the bees will love as they grow.... #beekeeping #mackay

10.01.2022 It was an interesting day. John got me out to take these bees out of this log. It took a bit of doing, but the end result was excellent. I'll go back and check them in a week or two.
