25.01.2022 Here is the 5th segment of the series of 9 of the Gold Coast Airshow

24.01.2022 The new hangar in the front row of the Commercial Hangar Precinct is at the practical completion point and is able to be used to hangar/maintain aircraft. Its really great to see this hangar and I am keen to see it in use - well done to Kennedy Aviation.

24.01.2022 Work has progressed on a new hangar for Kennedy Aviation at Watts Bridge in the Commercial Hangar Precinct. The second half of the slab will be laid in the next day or so and there is a large concrete apron to be laid as well. Kennedy Aviation operates fire fighting aircraft and was very active at Watts Bridge last fire season with a number of their Fire Boss aircraft operating from the field.. Great to see a new building in the Commercial Aviation Precinct.

24.01.2022 Here is the 7th segment of the series of 9 segments of the Gold Coast Airshow.

22.01.2022 We noticed that Atlas House Removers liked this page. Back in 1995 Atlas shifted the QWVAA building onto Watts Bridge. The photo below shows the building on one of the Atlas trucks.

21.01.2022 Here is the 8th segment of the series of 9 segments of the Gold Coast Airshow.

21.01.2022 This afternoon (27th March) I attended the wake of Steve Marchessi. Steve died about a week ago from a heart attack. Steve was well known and respected in GA aviation circles and a great pilot. Steve flew from King Airs down to vintage aeroplanes. Recently Steve flew a Harvard and a Stearman and on an earlier occasion he had ferried the Stearman from Western Australia and the Harvard from Victoria. The wake was a bit of a who's who of aviation at Archerfield from the 1980's and 1990's with a number of former CFI's from various flying schools in attendance. Goodby Steve!

18.01.2022 What a great Sunday! Blue skies, Watts for Breakfast, lots of planes, a briefing and formation flight.

15.01.2022 We are so proud to announce our partnership with Mates4Mates. Australia’s leading charity, actively changing the lives of current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members, and their families, impacted by service.

13.01.2022 Its real easy to forget the past and what has happened at Watts Bridge. This video is yet another of the various great aeroplanes attending a fly-in It is also the work of one of the many great photographers and video makers who have documented some of the happenings at the field. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrDRZgoNORI

12.01.2022 The working bee held at the QWVAA Building on Tuesday 9th June 2020 was a great success. A lot of work was done by a sizable number of members exercising their woodworking skills as can be seen in the photos.

12.01.2022 4th of 9 segments Gold Coast Airshow 1989 (Coolangatta). I will post the final3 segments up tomorrow. Anyone remember who paid for all those Warbirds to be there. LOTS of vintage aeroplanes flew in as well.

11.01.2022 The latest hangar at Watts Bridge is progressing well. Won't be long before the Kennedy Aviation aeroplanes are able to use the hangar Nice to see the Aero Commander aircraft land at Watts - I have had a soft spot for this Aero Commander aircraft The Commander is normally based at Toowoomba. The pilot told me he is restoring a Piper Tri-pacer.

10.01.2022 There are 4 new hangars about to be built at Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield. Currently they are in the earthworks stage however within about 3 months we should see 4 brand new hangars.

09.01.2022 Some progress on one of the four new hangars being build at Watts Bridge. The prolonged wet weather has delayed progress to some extend,. However the wet weather is giving the concrete time to cure. Watts Bridge is a sea of green at the moment and the grass is growing like there is no tomorrow. The new hangar backs onto John Yates hangar.

04.01.2022 Here is the 6th segment of the series of 9 segments of the Gold Coast Airshow.

02.01.2022 Final segment (9 of 9) of the 1988 Gold Coast Airshow.
