18.01.2022 Rally season starting again soon so we got the Peugeot AP4 out for a quick test with Stuart Warren and Max McRae at the wheel. First time in a 4wd car for many years for Stu and first time in a late model 4wd car for Max. But he took to it like a duck to water.

17.01.2022 More Testing Data for ETS Z85 Perfo Vs pump E85, this time in a 2.5 Litre Subaru Turbo at 1.5 bar boost. Tune was optimized on both fuels, however turbo boost ...was kept the same. Z85 Perfo produced a 20.5 KW & 33.1 NM gain. Or around 26.8 HP and 24ft/lb gain at the same boost setting. 12.01.2022 John O'Dowd's string of successful seasons in the West Australian Rally Championship came to a sudden end on the weekend. The Darling Safari Rally was the last ...event on the 2020 WARC calendar, and O'Dowd and co-driver Toni Feaver needed to complete the event in second place to take a third straight WARC championship title. But a slippery corner on the first stage put any result, and the championship title, out of their grasp. "It certainly wasn't the way we wanted to finish!", O'Dowd commented after the event. "To win the title I had to finish second, so I wasn't pushing that hard on the first stage. The Darling is a 'blind' event; so no recce or pace notes are allowed. All the competitors work with the same road book." "The Skoda R5 really needs to be driven hard; it doesn't really work well if you try and drive it cautiously. Unfortunately, as we entered a left-hander on stage one, I ran wide and clipped a stump with the right hand rear wheel and rolled the car. Then the rear right wheel hit another rock and sent us into a slow roll. The car ended up back on its wheels, but facing the wrong way and although it was a slow roll there was too much damage to continue." "The damage looks worse than it is. The car is repairable and Toni and I got out unhurt. I'm a bit sore, but nothing too bad." "And unfortunately, that was our day and the championship gone." "I must say congratulations to Mike Young and Scott Beckwith. They won the title fair and square, and provided some really tough competition over the last three events." They've done an incredible job with the Skoda R5 over the past two seasons, the Skoda has competed in 19 rallies and done almost 2500 competitive kilometres and has not missed beat. If the rally was a 2 day event I’m sure they would have had me back out there for day 2. I cannot speak highly enough of these guys; they are the real deal! Also my co-driver Toni Feaver has done an exceptional job over the past 19 rallies I can't thank her enough." "And I've said it a few times this year, but thank you again to all of the event organisers and officials. Back at the start of the year it was looking like we wouldn't have any events in 2020. They've done a brilliant job to run the series in what has been a really challenging year." Bringing it back to WA will create new jobs through tourism and help local small businesses in transport, logistics and manufacturing employ more West Australians. 03.01.2022 The Forest Rally was round 2 of the RallyWA.com Championship in Collie and Harvey where we had the privilege of using the infamous former WRC stages of Harvey W...eir, Brunswick and Wellington Dam. These are arguably some of the best roads in the country and where I have memories as a young kid watching the likes of Sainz, Kankkunen, Auriol, McRae, Erikksen etc. Running car 1, the surface was always going to be loose and tricky. We had a great start on the new stages of the rally and had a 10 second lead at the first service. After dropping some time following a few minor issues on the long Wellington Dam stage we dropped back to third place at the end behind O’Dowd and Feaver in the Skoda R5 and the eventual event winner Young and Beckwith in the Maximum Subaru who snuck in front to win on the last stage by less than a second!
