19.01.2022 It was 10 years ago today that I performed my first wedding as a Celebrant! I married my very, very good friends Kate and Darren and still remember the cheer from the crowd when I said this was my first wedding - they all made me feel so comfortable. I always encourage couples to make their ceremony a reflection of who they are and their relationship as it translates to a more intimate and meaningful ceremony. Kate and Darren were stuck on what Readings they wanted and e...ventually picked two Readings that suited them perfectly! Kate (not one to mince her words) chose a Winnie the Pooh poem; If you live to be 100 I want to live to be 100 minus one day so I never have to live without you Darren (infectious enthusiasm for everything he does) chose lyrics from In These Arms by Bon Jovi: You want commitment Take a look into these eyes They burn with a fire Until the end of time I would do anything Id beg, Id steal, Id die I want you like the roses Want the rain You know I need you Like a poet needs the pain I would give anything My blood my love my life To be in your arms tonight

12.01.2022 I just received this e-mail from the Attorney General's office... 'Dear Celebrant From 9 December 2017, marriage in Australia will be redefined as ‘the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life’. The right to marry under Australian law will no longer be determined by sex or gender.... It will be legal for same-sex couples to marry in Australia.' Wonderful news! Rachelxx
