22.01.2022 DAN TIAN BREATHING What does it mean to be centered? In Qi Gong terms, it signifies having energy in the center of the body. The center is called Dan Tian (just under your belly button), which means elixir field and a place to store energy. Think of the Dan Tian as a reservoir and a place of inner strength. **... Whilst lying down, take your hands and place them just under your belly button. Close your eyes and breathe in through your nose, deep into your belly (raising your belly), and exhale through your nose (making sure you completely empty your breath), and repeat. Picture a golden glow growing under your hands, slowly circulating through your body as your breath fills you. Keep your attention on the area under your hands and if it shifts, gently place it back. 21.01.2022 THE IMPORTANCE OF INTEGRATION AND CELEBRATING THE UNKNOWN When you work on yourself and begin to make some big life changes there is always a time of unknown or in-between which can feel a little scary or uncomfortable. You may initially feel amazing, noticing what it’s like to feel free from the shackles of old beliefs, behaviours or programs.... You might feel like you’ve lifted the lid on something huge that you’ve been disconnected to, or felt stuck with for a long time...a feeling of opportunity to take a leap and dive in, so you can release more layers and allow your internal landscape to change your external reality. However your reptilian brain (your risk manager) is constantly looking for safety. It finds comfort in the old ways of doing things because it feels the need to protect you, by keeping you in your old self, old patterns and limiting core beliefs. It prefers safety in the right-now over what is best for you long term. Take the time to recognise this as if we give in to this voice, we will create the same way of doing things over and over again. We can provide our bodies reassurance and safety in other ways - via our daily rituals of writing, meditation, breathwork and embodiment practices to keep connecting back to who you truly are and what you'd like to move towards. And recognise this isn't always linear and there is absolutely no rush. Choose absolute unconditional love and trust. Allowing yourself to trust in yourself and what life is presenting you; realising it will bring lessons, challenges and triggers, but these are all gifts to move you forward to bring you home to YOU. 20.01.2022 I have a deep thirst for knowledge! It is one of my highest values and one of my most important personal investments. I'm 2 weeks into my 6 month #feminineembodiment training certification and I keep losing track of time. It is so wonderful - we have 3 streams: 1) Personal mastery, where we we immerse ourselves in the Embodiment practices. This is the gold - without experiencing and shifting our own stuff, we can't pass it on to others 2) Theory - the juicy knowledge and 3) Coaching, where we learn how to coach these practices. I am definitely in the right place

16.01.2022 What is embodiment and why? Our society often prioritises doing (the masculine) over feeling and pleasure (the feminine). This in turn can lead to disembodiment, disconnection, unmet needs and in the longer term can present as physical symptoms or chronic illness. We have so much supressed energy and so many supressed emotions that it becomes exhausting to keep them locked in. We use many numbing practices to keep these emotions supressed - food, internet scrolling, sex, alco...hol, drugs and so on. Although we are born with the innate ability to embody (eg a baby does deep belly breathing or a toddler stamps their feet), we aren't taught how to to continue to live an embodied life. We lose these innate abilities as we grow up. We become more and more disembodied - we live in our heads to "get shit done". We also supress any emotions which are too hard to handle or are seen to be as unfavourable. The truth is - all emotions are gateways to unmet needs and are so important to welcome them all to live a full and joyous life. Embodiment practices allow for intimacy on a physical, mental, spiritual and emotional level. We don't try and transcend or bypass anything when we practice embodiment. These are very different to practises such as meditation and mindfulness as we aren't trying to transcend or quieten anything we welcome and embody it all. It brings awareness from the external senses and external world and into ourselves and our subtle internal senses - texture and tone of our muscles, thoughts and how they feel inside us, emotions and energy. Embodiment practices let our bodies lead the way to tap into sensations and emotions which lay dormant inside us. These practices are subtle but the results can be incredibly profound - reconnection to self and others, processing of old trauma and emotions, deep pleasure, feelings of profound love - especially self love and the most exciting part is being magnetic - a more effortless flow of the things you desire. . : Source unknown (but I'd love to know ) . #embodiment #femimineembodiment #magnetic #sensuality #unmetneeds #supressedemotions

15.01.2022 This is spot on @wayofdevotion. Sometimes it is too painful to face old trauma or supressed emotions but the truth is, it is more exhausting and debilitating to suppress emotions and can lead to chronic illnesses. Time to break these patterns
15.01.2022 MOVE IT THROUGH YOU When we go through a stressful situation eg. a fight with a loved one, we often go into fight, flight or freeze before we can complete and release this tension or trauma. In turn, it stays with us in our bodies. We can often feel something niggling inside us for hours or days after. Rather than letting this tension pile up, layer upon layer (which can lead to chronic stress and other conditions), I encourage you use the 4 pillars of embodiment to move i...t through you : awareness, movement, breathe and sound. How ? ONE: Create a safe and quiet space with a yoga matt or a soft rug underneath you. TWO: Choose a music playlist with no words (DM me for a playlist to use) THREE: Set a timer for at least 10 minutes FOUR: Start on all 4s - this allows your head, heart and pelvis/ womb to be aligned - dropping you out of your head and onto you body FIVE: With your eyes closed, let your body lead - sense where this unfinished tension resides in your body. Begin to slowly and gently move it through you using breathe, moment (without overthinking it, let your body lead here. It could be your hips moving in circular movements, it could be shaking, it could by large or small movements) and sound (eg. Humming, sighing, yelling). This delicious practice allows us to connect with our bodies and move unfinished trauma and tension out of your body. 15.01.2022 THE SPACE IN-BETWEEN (IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS) When we are in a transformational space - shifting from who we have been, to who we desire to become, we will naturally pass though the unknown or the "in-between". Our feminine creative energy is non-linear and this is often a space that is uncomfortable to navigate. But the "in-between" is often where the true change and magic occurs.... WHY IS IT SO UNCOMFORTABLE ? The unknown is a space we can't control. Our reptilian brain craves safety, familiarity and control. When we don't feel safe, our body goes into fight, flight of freeze. We often try and find some control by either going back to something familiar eg. A familiar job or relationship or by suppressing the discomfort by numbing through food, alcohol or scrolling on our phones etc. But this keeps us stuck in the old ways of doing things. WHY IS THE UNKNOWN SO UNCELEBRATED? Our society celebrates moving from one thing to the next - celebrating "achieving". This is based on the "masculine-go" energy and doesn't allow us to celebrate the in-between where we are unravelling the old and rebuilding the new. WHY SHOULD WE CELEBRATE THE UNKNOWN AND TRUST THE PROCESS This is where true change occurs. If we don't embrace the chaotic, non-linear unknown space we are bound to experience the same reality over and over again as we grasp at something to fill this space to anchor us. On the flipside if we embrace and celebrate the "in-between" we allow a rebirth of sorts. Allowing the old ways of being to fall away and build new ways of being from a clean slate - from a space of creation and trust, rather than a space of fear and control. HOW CAN WE BRING MORE COMFORT INTO THE UNKNOWN WITHOUT GOING BACK TO THE FAMILIAR ? By bringing safety to the body on a daily basis through bringing your body out of "fight or flight" (sympathetic nervous system ) and into "rest and digest" (parasympathetic nervous system). Some great ways to do this include: deep belly breaths (in for 4, hold for 5, out for 6 - repeat for 3-5 minutes), exercise, non-linear movement, cold water immersion, meditation, journalling, gratitude exercises. Here are some thoughts and questions to consider whilst you are in the in-between: Don't approach this period of not knowing as a problem that needs to be fixed. List out everything you may be afraid of so that you don't react and make decisions from fear or lack. Do you have to know/ make a decision right now ? What will happen if you don't ? What stops you from relaxing into this experience ? Continue to bring yourself back to safety and celebrate the in-between as we create magic from this space!

14.01.2022 Even the icky sticky stuff ! Modern society often teaches us to suppress or ignore the uncomfortable or vulnerable parts of ourselves. We are taught that we have a "problem" that we need to "fix". The truth is, the uncomfortable or vulnerable often holds valuable information to unmet needs. As soon as we welcome it all, we begin to tap into this life force energy, to feel whole again and to be able to find new and healthy ways to meet unmet needs.... This is an important part of #embodiment. Welcome it all! Even the icky sticky s*+@#.
