15.01.2022 Throughout December our Read2Grow rooms conducted a Christmas Decoration competition. Each room came up with a theme and the educators and children decorated accordingly. Our KINDY ROOM were the winners with their ‘recycling in the North Pole’. A sustainable inspired Christmas using recyclable materials as the foundation to their design. 09.01.2022 SORTING NAME BEANS . Re-sharing this absolute favourite sorting activity linked to learning letters from a child’s own name! . ... . We have done the same game but with groups of letters being learnt in phonics, numbers and shapes. You could adapt it in 101 different ways no doubt! . . This is a great early learning activity as I always encourage starting with learning the letter sounds in a child’s name before moving onto any others. These are the important ones that mean the most to them. . . How can you help as they play? Point out the individual letter sounds on the cups and say them out loud. Ask your child to say them too. Talk about the shapes within those letters and ask if they can find any hiding in the tray! . . Tell them it’s an I-Spy hunt for each letter and that they need to be collected into all of the cups. Even better if they can say the sound each time that they find it. . .
