Probably the most common request is for fishos to hand out their GPS marks, now as we all know its a grey area... and can cause animosity quite easy and heres why; 1. Spots arent a secret, they just dont want to publicly ruin something thats taken time to accumulate. 2. Perhaps someone else gave them that mark on good faith. 3. Perhaps they were were drifting and didnt mark an exact GPS. 4. Maybe they were on someone elses boat. 5. Social media trolls give people a hard time for sharing such information if it has a conflict of interests to them. 6. Its all part of the learning curve building knowledge through experience, nobody knows how long guys have to spend driving around pulling donuts before the pieces start falling into the right place. Who knows but either way heres one for all the new guys out prospecting this spring. Download Navionics and sit at night building marks picking out rocks, patches and ledges whilst learning to read the charts. This way when you are out on the bay youll know if you are just drifting over dead ground, sand bars, gravel etc. Keep your movements using tracks on the water, and take a picture using the app to pinpoint locations and create new marks. Marking up bait is a good way to sniff around for something a bit more exciting too. Anyway I hope this helps out a few of you and leads to that proper feeling of achievement when youve earned that new PB off your own doing. Cheers legends
