12.01.2022 If you were the parent of a little you- would you say the words that you say to yourself? What would you say to that little child? Would you tell her/him she/he was stupid? Fat? Not worth it? Shouldn’t try? Today I was reminded of a woman (let’s call her Sarah) at one of my workshops who, when asked to send some love to herself, found that her immediate internal response was ‘you’re not worthy of love’ and after some thought, her question to herself was ‘if I can’t give my...self love how can I ever give love to anyone else?’ Through the magnificent enabling power of Expressive Sound and Art Therapy, Sarah was able to release that false, destructive belief system and connect to her TRUE voice inside which told her she was loved and not alone. By challenging that negative belief system and letting go of the voice that IS NOT YOURS, but someone else’s - something you have absorbed from the influences around you such as parents, school peers etc - you can be free to hear your own voice and it will never speak to you with anything but love.
