20.01.2022 Congratulations to Mitch who has been signed up into a school based electrical apprenticeship with Regionall Electrical. Mitch joined The AITC in January 2020 a...nd has spent this year working with a number of different electrical businesses building his skills to a stage that he was ready to be signed up. Having completed work experience with five other business Mitch retuned to Regionall Electrical three times in 2020, demonstrating that this does not happen overnight it takes hardwork and the courage to persist. A big thanks to Regionall Electrical who has been a supporter of our college offering work experience to a few of our young people through out the year, we appreciate your efforts in helping young people explore industry.

18.01.2022 E X P E R T A D V I C E Shop around! The downlight on the right is $20. The one on the left is $100. The $20 one out-performs the $100 one on paper and in reality. If youre paying more than $20 for a downlight youre paying too much. You cannot go wrong with a flat white tri colour LED downlight. They are all the same.

18.01.2022 What do you value? Who do you value? Why? You thought we were gonna have a light-hearted HAPPY FRIDAY post this morning didnt you?! Heres why us having this guy on our team is a bonus for you.... This is Locky. Hes been a mate since we were in primary school. He began labouring for us when we first started out back in 2013 and is now nearly a fully licensed tradesman. He embodies EVERYTHING we value. From integrity to loyalty, respect, dedication and ambition. He brings it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. . Hes also going to be a new dad really soon which amps the coolness factor up a lot in our books. You know that old saying... No one will look after your business the way you do? Weve got Locky for that. The best part? We know our customers will feel exactly the same way. You get what youre after no matter who youre dealing with. What/who do you value? Wed love to know. HAPPY FRIDAY FOLKS! Lets go fishing See more

18.01.2022 1. TIER 1,2 or 3 (high, medium, low) TIER 1 panels are your big name brand panels. They are generally more expensive but run at a pretty low risk because of their long standing reputations. TIER 2 & 3 panels are both cheaper and more varied but CAN run at a higher risk if you dont understand the current manufacturing landscape. In saying that, there are cost effective options that a knowledgeable installer can help you find. 2. COMPARING WA...RRANTY Solar panels come with 2 warranties - a performance warranty and a manufacturers warranty. The performance warranty on nearly all solar panels is 25 years. Dont worry about this one. The manufacturers warranty on the other hand is what really matters here. It covers faulty parts, defective materials etc. You want this warranty to be AT LEAST 10 years. 3. POWER TOLERANCE Power tolerance refers to how close to the specified wattage the module will be in real-world conditions. For example, if it is a 300-watt panel and the power tolerance is +/-5%, your actual wattage could be from 285W up to 315W. These days quality panels have a positive only power tolerance. That means a 300W module will never be less than 300W. Thats a good thing. Our advice is: only buy a solar panel that has a +ve only power tolerance. 4. EFFICIENCY COMPARISON Efficiency is not as important as most people think. As long as the module efficiency is over 15% it should be fine. More efficient panels dont produce more electricity, they are just a little bit smaller on your roof. 5. COMPARE TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT Solar panels love sunlight, but they hate heat. Their power drops as they get hotter. The temperature coefficient measures how much the power reduces for every degree rise in temperature above 25C panel temperature. This generally ranges from -0.4% per C (good) to -0.5% per C (not as good) See more

16.01.2022 ‘I always see posts looking for 'cheap' work or 'why do tradies charge an arm and a leg?' Well I'll lay it out. We don't get paid vacation, we don't get payed sick leave, we dont get paid annual leave, no carers leave, paternity or maternity leave, no pay on rain days, no overtime or bonuses for outstanding performance during the year from the boss. The skills we have were expensive to attain along with the tools/vehicles and the time invested in your job.... The (FREE!!) quotes, the ordering, picking up materials, bunnings Bbqs, time at your job including traveling either way. It all adds up. That's not even looking at business finances like public liability, income protection, insurances, regos etc. We love being our own boss and I personally wouldn't have it any other way but that love that we put into your job doesn't pay the bills. While I'm at it, don't ask for a cash discount and expect 10% or more! We have to pay GST on every little thing we buy. The only discount we can give is on our labour and who likes doing that?! So hug a tradie this Christmas. If they run their own show, hug them twice! Bring on our week unpaid holidays’ Repost from A&H Fencing See more

09.01.2022 Gday everyone thats new to us! Im Tim and I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to give you a bit of background on how this all started. I grew up on a third generation dairy farm in Evergreen Qld. Dad always had us working and held a high standard from anything between fixing pumps to picking up rocks in the paddock. I learned a lot about the urgency of electrical work on farms, especially when they involve dairy sheds, feed mi...xing and irrigation. I left the farm to pursue a profession in the electrical trade directly out of high school. I spent a year on sabbatical fishing the Whitsundays (a far cry from my 5am milking days) after completing my apprenticeship where I met my wife Annika. We have two amazing boys who make sure I never miss a hit of Cricket in the backyard after a long day and almost always enjoy their time fishing the dams with me. Back in 2013 we had our first son and we thought.. why not start a business as well?! (A common thought for most new parents Im pretty sure). Much like children do, the business has grown along with us and we are very proud of where we are at in 2020. I consider myself lucky to be able to work with a great group of people day in and day out. We have a strong team that shares the same vision and consistently exceeds not only ours but also our customers expectations. Our focus for the business has and always will be on finding the best possible solution for our customers and we look forward to helping you with your electrical and solar needs. See more

08.01.2022 Quality over Quantity in E. V. E. R. Y. T. H. I. N. G. you do... This has been our personal and business motto from day one. Like most everyone, we have a million thoughts running through our heads at any given moment, jobs that need attention, emails that need answering, kids that want to go to the skate park (see background photo)... the list goes on and on. If we are not truly present in the moment and giving as much attention to the task at hand, the ...end result will always be sub-par. We dont want sub-par. And neither do you. Do less better. 07.01.2022 SAVE. THIS. POST! A tripped safety switch is usually caused by one of the following: 1. Moisture causing electricity to leak to earth in an appliance or within premises wiring 2. A heating element that is either faulty or drawing sudden electrical surges... 3. An appliance with an electric motor that is either faulty or drawing sudden electrical surges HOW TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM: 1.Turn OFF the Main Switch and all Circuit Breakers (CB) 2.Turn ON the Safety Switch (the switch with the blue test button) 3.Turn ON the Main Switch *If Safety Switch trips, call a licensed electrician as this will mean you have a faulty safety switch *If Safety Switch remains ON, turn on CBs one at a time working from left to right. When safety switch trips, take note of which CB was last turned on. This is the circuit that has the fault. RE-SET the Safety Switch and turn ON all OTHER CBs EXCEPT the one that caused the trip 4.If this is a lighting CB, turn OFF all light switches in the house and try to re-set the CB. *If the safety switch trips again, call a licensed electrician as this could indicate faulty wiring. *If it re-sets, turn the lights on one at a time to determine which is faulty and call a licensed electrician to repair/replace 5.If this is a power circuit (power points), ensure all appliances including grey water/pressure pumps are un-plugged. *NOTE there should be at least TWO power circuits in your home, therefore, half will be working and the other half will not. This will help you narrow down the problem. *Once all items are unplugged, turn on the power circuit CB. *If it still trips, call a licensed electrician. *If it remains on, plug in the appliances one by one to determine which appliance is faulty For PORCELAIN FUSES replace the word CIRCUIT BREAKER with PORCELAIN FUSE and REMOVE/INSTALL instead of OFF/ON.
