21.01.2022 Weekends are for fun projects! The Savvy Furniture Painter and I went Junkin last week and found this cute set of retro timber bowls and tray. They even came with an ornamental pineapple I've used Sweet Pickins Milk Paint in Flour Sack, First Crush, Sweetie Jane, Oh Olive, Corabelle and custom colours using Moody Blue/Flour Sack, Sunflower/Flour Sack and Bleu Bohemia/Flour Sack. ... 05.01.2022 I had such a fun day today, painting with a friend, on their front deck with the sea breezes to keep us cool. And since it was Valentines Day and I was doing what I love, I just had to use our Sweet Pickins Milk Paint #colouroftheweek, First Crush! First up, I painted the sweetest loveheart garden ornament. Only 2 coats, a light sand to distress, clear wax to seal and then I used my favourite black wax to add depth and definition to those gorgeous roses. I then wiped the exc...ess black wax away with more clear wax and buffed it all over. Next were a pair of candlesticks. These took 3 coats. And as is typical with milk paint, one cadlestick achieved some authentic looking chippiness, the other not so much. I gave them a light sand and sealed them with only the clear wax this time.
