24.01.2022 2021 Canberra Royal Show The RNCAS has made the difficult decision to postpone our 2021 Royal Canberra Horse Show in February 2021. The horse committee will... announce the new proposed dates shortly with aim to run our event towards the end of 2021 to coincide with the other Royal Shows. At the moment (from 2nd December 2020) ACT Health have stated events of over 500 people, which run over multiple days, with the same attendees are unlikely to be considered in view of the risks involved, and in particular where there is communal camping element proposed The Society will make an announcement with the new confirmed dates once everything has been locked in. These dates will be posted on our Facebook page, Website and emailed to exhibitors. In the meantime please respect our volunteers and staff as they try to do the best they can in these unprecedented circumstances. Yours Sincerely Brook Brook Keir Chief Horse Steward Royal National Capital Agricultural Society

23.01.2022 Why do cavalletti work? Ingrid Klimke tells us and Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro and assist by demonstrating: The hindlegs must be energetic under the centre ...of gravity, that means the hindquarters get much more muscle, the back gets so much stronger, and the horse really shows himself. The horse has to have energy from behind, the motor is the hindlegs. https://www.horsemagazine.com//cavalletti-why-should-we-u/ See more

09.01.2022 And this ladies and gentlemen is what those cheap and nasty side saddles are actually good for!!! So unless you need a barstool or fire wood please don't be tempted to buy these nasty cheapies. They are not built on an actual side saddle tree so will never fit your horse or you properly. You would never deliberately put a bad fitting astride saddle on your horse which can cause damage so PLEASE don't do it with a cheap nasty side saddle. There is a reason why they are so cheap in the first place!

03.01.2022 Really proud of our AWHA Ltd Approved Stallion HPW Emmett RW (ET) (Everdale x Donnerschwee x Sandro Hit) and his co-owner Mattea Davidson of Davidson Equestrian.... Emmett and Mattea came 1st in Class 5: Preliminary 1C scoring 69.286% and 3rd in Class 6: Novice 2C scoring 66.571%. Apparently judges don't like to see flying changes in a novice test. This was Emmett's first Novice test and only his second dressage outing. Another proud breeder moment! Many thanks to the event sponsor Horseland Ipswich and to the hard working committee and volunteers at Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club. Many thanks also goes to Shane and Mattea Davidson of Davidson Equestrian for taking such good care of Emmett.
