25.01.2022 Making a choice. As with any good sermon, Jesus leaves his listeners and readers with a solid and confronting challenge to integrate the hearing and learning into positive and active change. As we step into (old yet) new found freedoms, it’s a good time to consider our choices and to pray for courage to live them out. Join Brendan, Laura & Webster, Lorraine and Penny as they lead us through this week’s worship video. Watch the video at rngwd.com/1511v or read it in paper chur...ch at rngwd.com/1511pc. We'd love you to join us for live communion today at 11am via Zoom at rngwd.com/communion or watch it on Facebook Live at 11:05am. If you love to engage with God through music, we’ve put together this YouTube playlist for the week: rngwd.com/1511playlist We really value your feedback and want to be praying for you so feel welcome to let us know by filling out a brief connect card at rngwd.com/connect.

24.01.2022 Having a pen pal can be really fun and interesting. Eastland is currently offering a pen pal program to connect people in the community- fantastic for this time! All you have to do is register and you will receive a pack and you either write to someone you know or you can be matched up with someone you dont. Fantastic!

24.01.2022 It's been a long, hard winter for many businesses in Victoria and it will still be a little while before we can visit those further from our homes. However, the good news is that we can still support businesses by ordering online. Visit Victoria have set up the #clickforvic campaign which brings together a range of online food, beverage and retail options from some fabulous producers. Consider having a look at the website and know that your purchases are bringing hope to others.

23.01.2022 We are commencing a new series on the book of James. James insists that faith matures and deepens as we persist, lean in and endure. This weekend's worship resources allow us to hear from Paul and Penny around the theme of Enduring to Mature. Watch the video at rngwd.com/139v or read in paper church at rngwd.com/139pc. You are very welcome to join us today at 11am for live communion via Zoom by going to rngwd.com/communion or watch it on Facebook Live.... Don't forget to let us know you have connected with the worship resources or if you have any prayer/praise requests for the ministry staff by completing a Connect Form via rngwd.com/connect.

23.01.2022 During this NAIDOC Week, let's commit ourselves to listening to the perspective of others and what we can learn about healing and reconciliation of our nation and all its people. This article from Pastor Helen Wright on the Common Grace website gives a timely understanding of our spaces, repentance and healing.

22.01.2022 You are encouraged to be praying regularly for our church and further afield, and you are also welcome to join our regular weekly prayer time happening again tonight via Zoom, 7:30-8:30pm via the link rngwd.com/prayer. A prayer for us today written by Paul Arnott (adapted). Lord, we pray especially today for those who are feeling isolated and lonely.... Help us to be alert to opportunities to connect not only with those we are attracted to, but also to those to whom we dont readily warm. We pray also for children and youth on school holidays, and that their parents will have the energy they need throughout these holidays. We pray for teachers, chaplains and support staff, that they will find rest and be re-energised before term four begins, We pray for families with businesses that are currently closed, may your comfort calm their fears, and may they find rest as they wait. In your name. Amen. You can always send your prayers and comments to our ministry team via rngwd.com/connect.

18.01.2022 A Relationships Victoria tip sheet called Communication Skills highlights the importance of communication in our relationships and what can go wrong if we don't work on this skill: "Its important to communicate effectively at home and at work as misunderstandings can lead to disagreements and strong emotions such as anger and sadness. These emotions and the accompanying behaviours can then be misinterpreted and escalate the situation and make future interactions more difficu...lt." The Art of Communicaton is one of the 7 topics covered in The Marriage Course and aims to help you communicate more effectively with your partner. Some of the other topics are Resolving Conflict, the Power of Forgiveness, and the Impact of Family. Keep investing in your relationship being the best it can be by signing up to take part together in this free online course beginning Thursday 15 October at www.rngwd.com/marriage or find out more at www.ringwoodchurch.org.au/event/marriage.

15.01.2022 A prayer for now... Heavenly Father Our Lord and God, We want to take this time to come into your presence, To spend time with You and simply say we love You.... Father our hearts are longing for things to be different, There is so much going on and so much not going on That we just want to stop, and refocus, To be reminded Of Your good and faithfulness toward us, To know Your tenderness, and mercy, and grace, To be strengthened in faith and hope, And to be reminded that you are God - the Lord God Almighty - Who wills that all things work together for the good of those who love You. And Lord, You know our hearts, our minds, and bodies, You know when we are hurting, When we are unwell When we are lonely, frustrated, angry, or losing direction. But we put our trust in You, and seek Your face, that You would lead us by your Holy Spirit Into paths of healing, and purpose That You would help us to put on the mind of Christ. And as we pray Lord, we bring our scattered Church before You, Lord we miss being with each other, Nevertheless Lord, we give thanks for all the ways that we can still connect, And our prayer is that even now we will be shaped and formed, Both for now, and for the time coming as landscapes change. We pray for our leadership, and also for inspired decision-making on important issues on our near horizons. We pray for the community around us - that they will know Your love through your people - and we pray for those whose businesses and employment is uncertain at this time. Help us to be a church that cares and provides as needs arise. We pray for households for patience, self-control, peace and kindness toward each other, and to ourselves as we each face our own battles. We pray for governments at all levels, working tirelessly in unprecedented circumstances. And we pray for the world - Lord God - raise up peaceful leaders of nations. Move Lord God we pray, by the power of your Holy Spirit, in ways that seem big, and ways that seem small, but ways that move towards a time when Your people will see, all things working together for the good of those who love You. In Jesus name, Amen by Matt Moore

11.01.2022 Bron and her family are a part of our Ringwood Church of Christ community and we just love The Fair Trader shop. Such an easy, practical way to make a difference in this world is to shop ethically and thoughtfully. The products sold are created by people who are paid fairly and purchasing these products goes to helping create a sustainable income for families overseas. Our local businesses are doing it tough through Covid-19, so please consider The Fair Trader and other smaller retailers for your purchases.

03.01.2022 Conflict in relationships is normal but sometimes it can feel strained to the point of breaking, particularly when living through a pandemic?! An article from Byeond Blue called "How to maintain a healthy relationship during the coronavirus" says "Humans have the ability to love and nurture, but we also have some destructive tendencies too. The added stress and strain the coronavirus pandemic is bringing into many peoples lives may be amplifying any existing cracks in any re...lationship or causing new ones to appear." We are offering The Marriage Course online as a way for couples to intentionally set aside 1 night over 7 weeks to work on those cracks of conflict by Doing Date Night Differently. Starting Thursday 15 October, this free course could be exactly what you and your partner could invest in now to strengthen your relationship.
