25.01.2022 Imaginative Play Imaginative play allows children to explore both the physical world and the inner self at the same time, helping children to recognise their our own emotional responses to things, which is a very healthy process. Today the children explored natural open ended resources to use their imagination to create a salad, cakes, cooking and a birds nest.

25.01.2022 The use of real tools at preschool honors childrens abilities and intelligence and sends the message that they are capable constructors and engineers. The use of real tools can be a bonding experience between children and their educators.

24.01.2022 A cold, rainy day can be just as much fun as a sunny day spent outside; sometimes it can even be more enjoyable. Thanks to these simple, easy-to-do activities, you can turn a dull, grey day into one full of wonder, creativity, and play.

23.01.2022 Obstacle Course An obstacle course provides opportunity to learn and experience different sensory inputs. ... -Strength and Balance. ... -Motor Planning. ... -Bilateral Coordination.

22.01.2022 Sandpit Play..... This week as the weather is warming up the children enjoyed the sandpit, making sand castles then turning them into waterfalls. With this activity the children are learning so much more than just playing in the sand. Sand play promotes physical development. Large muscle skills develop as children dig, pour, sift and scoop. Eye-hand coordination and small muscle control improve as children learn to manipulate sand accessories. Sand play also promotes social skills.

21.01.2022 Thank you to our wonderful families for always supporting and thinking about us. Throughout this time of Covid-19 some yummy surprise lunches have been delivered. Today it was pizza and the educators really enjoyed it on this cold wet day. We would like to thank everyone for your support throughout this time as it has been challenging for everyone.

19.01.2022 Thank you Ash for your yummy potato salad recipe. The children picked fresh mint to add to the salad. They all explored the yummy textures and tastes at lunch time. This experience expands the childrens idea of where food comes from and broadens their views of the paddock to plate philosophy. If anyone has recipes they would like to share that would be great for further cooking experiences or have any left over seeds the children can plant and grow.

17.01.2022 Imaginative Play Pretending makes children more creative!!!! Pretend play allows children to innovate, to imagine being someone, something else or to fantasize about engaging in activities they usually dont have access to, such as being a mechanic or maintenance technician.

14.01.2022 The educators have been working on our environment lately. We view the environment as the 3rd Teacher within our centre. I am so proud of all our team and the great learning opportunities they create for your children.

14.01.2022 Our book week dress-up and story time has been a nice way for the children, families and educators to come together and encourage the love of books in a fun way. A book can take us anywhere: to another city, to a different country, or even to an alternative world. By reading a book, a child learns about so much more like people, places, and events that they couldnt learn otherwise. This gives children a deeper understanding of the world around them and cultures that are different from their own. Thank you for sharing some of your favourite books from home.

14.01.2022 National Tree Day was Sunday 2nd August. National Tree Day helps us connect with nature by planting trees and shrubs to improve our natural environment. On Friday the children planted an Orange Navelina Tree, kindly donated by Kempsey Shire Council.

10.01.2022 Imaginative Play It was a cold morning and the children made their own bonfire. Imaginative play provides an opportunity for children to practice and develop their language and social skills simply by being with and talking to other children. It boosts development of problem solving and self-regulation skills. Imaginative play with peers can create situations in which not everyone gets what they want, but teaching them life skills and to be resilient.

10.01.2022 Peer relationships provide a unique context in which children learn a range of critical social emotional skills, such as empathy, cooperation, and problem-solving strategies. Children learn about themselves during interactions with each other and use this information to form a sense of their own selves who they are I was so lovely to watch the children support each other maneuvering around the obstacle course.

02.01.2022 I am in tears this morning. We drove 10 hours and spent $$$$$$ to put up this fence so that our children were safe and secure. I have spend years supporting our families and this community and this is what we get for our effort. I am totally heartbroken that someone would do this let alone to an early childhood service that works everyday for this local community. If anyone has any information please let the Kempsey Police know!!!! Cleanup will hopefully be done by the morning

01.01.2022 All done, just in time! The rest will be updated the next time we visit.
