20.04.2022 It was great to have parents back at assembly on Friday. We took the opportunity to officially unveil our amazing under cover area mural.Artist Kylee Larsen took inspiration from our beautiful school environment and feedback from our Student Councillors to create the work.

15.01.2022 Only 5% of children eat enough vegetables. Were on a mission to improve that stat, by increasing childrens knowledge, exposure and positive attitudes towards vegetables. Rivervale PS will be hosting the fun event, The Big Vegie Crunch in September. This is a free, quick and easy school based event where the whole school will simultaneously try to crunch their vegetables as loudly as a crocodile. To join the fun, all students will need to bring a piece of uncooked, crunchy vegetable to school on September 16. Then, just before recess, when the crunch clock counts down to zero everyone will have a big crunch on their vegetable. Its a fun-tastic, veg-citing way to enjoy vegetables with friends in this health-promoting crunch.

The Council discussed: the tenure of the members, the roles and responsibilities of a Council and were provided with information on some of the current programs at the school. We have an opportunity to welcome 3 new parent members to our School Council. I have included information from the Education Departments guidelines on School Councils to give you an idea about the purpose of such a body in schools. Our School Council genera...lly meets once a term for about an hour.
