11.01.2022 The Migrant and Refugee Community Network Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation. Our mission is to provide practical and moral support to refugee and migrant communities - of all nationalities - that now call Australia home. Covering all areas of Melbourne, we offer a number of services to community members including advocacy, referrals to social support services, community based programs and general information and advice.

09.01.2022 Survivors' Time: Safia is a 42 years old woman from Somalia. She migrated to Australia in 2005 as a refugee. Before she came to Australia, she studied nursing in Iraq. However, she had to leave Iraq because of the war where it was not safe to live there. She moved to a place which is between Iraq and Jordan for 4 years. There was a refugee camp which provided basic necessaties of life including, food, health facilities, and other basics. She felt satisfied and safe in the ref...ugee camp. She firstly arrived in Adelaide and received the support and assistance from the Australian Government. She feels grateful for what Australian government and MRCN have provided her. She is active to participate the sewing group activity and wants to learn more skills and give back to the community. Do you have any story of your friends? Tell us and join our community.
