11.01.2022 We're so proud of Zavier who recently graduated from our Ronald McDonald Learning Program! With the support of his tutor Clare, Zavier completed 40 hours of tutoring which helped him to catch up on missed school due to illness. Congratulations, Zavier - we hope you enjoyed your party! #KeepingFamiliesClose

08.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The theme for 2020 is Always Was, Always Will Be, which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. We are so proud and excited to celebrate NAIDOC Week with... our families, volunteers and supporters this week. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC #KeepingFamiliesClose

04.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADDIE! Today we had the honour of celebrating Addie’s second birthday with her and her family, as well as the friends she’s made during her stay at our Townsville Ronald McDonald House! Addie is staying with us while her baby brother Harry gets strong in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Townsville University Hospital. Being just steps away from his side mean that mum and dad can still throw Addie an incredible party, even when they are far from home. Happy birthday, sweet girl! #FeelGoodFriday #KeepingFamiliesClose

02.01.2022 Today was a very special day for us, as we celebrated NAIDOC week with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group, who helped us unveil Acknowledgement of Country plaques. These plaques are proudly displayed in our Townsville Ronald McDonald House. We will also display them in our Ronald McDonald Family Room at Townsville University Hospital and our Ronald McDonald Family Retreat in Palm Cove. We were also delighted to welcome local Indigenous Artist and friend ...Linda Oliver back to our House. Linda developed our motif with us back in 2017, and it makes a proud feature on our new plaques! The unveiling of these plaques is just another way that we are demonstrating our commitment to diversity, cultural inclusion, and the practice of reconciliation. You can read more about our continued journey to prioritise cultural safety for all of our seriously ill children and their families in our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan: http://bit.ly/2019RAPInnovate
