15.01.2022 Can you help: We have had a request sent to our Facebook page and wonder if you can help us. Hi CWA, I have a question for you and your members! My mum makes t...he most delicious vanilla slice with lattice biscuits, dessert mix and icing. It’s a family favorite, it’s her signature dish. Sadly Coles and Woollies are not stocking lattice biscuits anymore. It’s been about a month and we’re having slice withdrawals what would you recommend as a substitute biscuit? Thank you! Emily Edit: One of our Instagram followers as been in touch with Arnotts and they replied Unfortunately the Lattice has been deleted due to slow sales and low consumer demand. Sorry to disappoint you but we will pass on your comments to the relevant teams. Watch the sales of SAO biscuits soar now ladies See more

15.01.2022 Save the Date: Keep Calm and keep the 6th February free for Stitch Sew and Share on a Saturday. We are all missing our Stitch and Sew on Saturdays, it has been... so long since we saw you all so block out the 6th February in your diaries and we will catch up with your WIPs, a cuppa and some chatting (not necessarily in that order ). Keep an eye on SACWA social media pages for more details next week. See more

07.01.2022 Marketing Monday = Many Faces Monday. On the first Monday of the month we introduce you to one of the ‘Many Faces’ of our Association. This month is the deli...ghtful Merilyn Kelly. I wonder if you will see Merilyn at the #royaladelaideshow this year. I joined SACWA Lock Branch in 2013 when a senior Member (she is still an active Member at 95 years) offered to pay my subs at a meeting. (I did pay her back later). I have held offices as ‘Sunshine Lady’, Vice President, President and Buxton Group President and recently an Elected Member to State Council. I have met a lot of people through SACWA and enjoy attending functions and meetings at Branch, Group and State level. At State Council Meetings I have found out a lot about SACWA and I stay at our wonderful B & B on Dequetteville. There I have enjoyed the company of others and many conversations and laughs over a coffee or a meal. I volunteer at the Adelaide Show Café and love volunteering, meeting and working with others. I have learnt new crafts and my favourite is card making and visiting the SACWA Handicraft Shop. Joining SACWA is a wonderful way to learn and meet people. We also feature #manyfaces in our #CountryWoman magazine. Check out page 20 to read about Natasha White (Upper Sturt Branch), Alice Jericho (Murray Bridge Branch) and Melva Miles (Victor Harbor Branch). #sa_cwa #countrywomen #manyfaces

07.01.2022 Tempting Tuesday: The SACWA Recipe of the Week shared on #abcadelaide last night was the classic pavlova. I wonder how many pavlovas were served up over the Chr...istmas and New Year period. What is your favourite topping? Grazing pavlova platters are the new thing, is this something you would do? What do you do with the unused egg yolks? Last night’s recipe was taken from the Calendar of Cakes cookbook but the recipe is also printed on a tea towel (both the cookbook and tea towel are available from State Office at 30 Dequetteville Terrace). Will you be serving up a pavlova on Australia Day? #pavlova #sacwajoinus See more

06.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our Branch members and followers. Our first meeting will be next month at the Stirling Golf Club. We normally meet on the third Thursday of the month but we are just waiting for our guest speaker to confirm the date and then we will send out our Calendar of Events. If you have been following us and have been thinking of joining the SACWA now is a great time. Either contact State Office on 8332 4166 or PM this page. We have programmed in more Crafternoons this year and have planned an overnight road trip to the Yorke Peninsula to meet our regional 'sisters'. What do you hope to achieve this year with the SACWA?

05.01.2022 Tempting Tuesday: Another great segment on #ABCAdelaide when our new State President, Davina Quirke and Jenny Holland (Marketing Committee) joined #petergoers. ... Jenny is a coeliac and regularly makes these gluten free / nut free batch biscuits. A great cooking activity to do with the children these school holidays. The debate continues: cookie versus biscuit. #sacwa #cookiesandbiscuits #forcountrywoman #manyfaces #joinus See more
