21.01.2022 This is what the Cairns to Port Douglas Road looks like after Cyclone Kimi. It was a non event up this end. Hope they sold lots of newspapers.

20.01.2022 Tropical North Queensland is now the surrogate for Bali, Thailand and Fiji for Australian travellers. The influx of domestic visitors has been of epic proportions and has provided a huge surge in confidence for the area. In 2019, Australians spent $65 billion on overseas travel and international tourism brought in $44 billion. Now a big chunk of that money is aimed at Cairns and Port Douglas. This is not without its challenges as many businesses had closed or downsized over ...2020. Quite a few restaurants closed and the ones that made it through now struggle to get staff. Car hire companies sold a significant proportion of their fleet to survive and now there is unprecedented demand for them. Transfer companies like Sapphire are running ourselves ragged shuttling families to Port Douglas and Palm Cove. March was our best earning month in over three years of existence and April will smash March. As the temperatures down south plummet and vaccines and cheap flights work their magic, we expect to continue at this frantic pace. Direct NZ flights to Cairns start in June as well. Hiring new drivers and looking at growing our fleet. Unthinkable three months ago.

20.01.2022 We now have Book Rides Online, a new and easy to use booking/quoting and online payment system on our website. Hit the Book Now button or go to sapphiretransfers.com to get accurate quotes for door to door trips.

18.01.2022 Worried about flying? If you are a family or small group in Cairns and need to get somewhere within 400km of Cairns we can help? If it is via sealed roads and permissible by law we can take up to NINE (9) People. We charge $1.30 per kilometre so Cairns to Townsville would be $450. Service available 24/7 and door to door. We are a Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads accredited transport operator. Credit card payment accepted. Please message us.

18.01.2022 Port Douglas is once again heaving with tourists from Victoria and NSW. Those businesses that survived are making up for lost time.

18.01.2022 A guy emailed me from mid air on the Melbourne to Cairns flight that was about an hour from landing. He wanted to book a transfer to Port Douglas for his family of five including a couple of kids needing baby seats. I emailed him back to say we had been booked out for that time slot for three vehicles for several weeks. Also enquired as to how much trouble he was in with the missus. Half the country wants to descend on us on the same day after a 12 month coma and expects everything to be on tap.

14.01.2022 The Cairns Ironman is upon us. Our VW Multivans are ideal to carry your oversized luggage. Two bike bags loaded with room for two more.

12.01.2022 Sapphire Transfers was booked by the Tony Robbins organisation to move a mountain of their gear from the Shangri La Hotel in Cairns to a private jet at Cairns International. Our multivans can take a huge load. Got baggage? Call Sapphire.

12.01.2022 Bucking good deals for the Cairns PBR. Making the trip to Cairns for The Professional Bull Riders Monster Energy Tour? Mareeba to Cairns one way $100 for up to six people in comfort and style. Get in and get out. Book and pay online.

12.01.2022 Sapphire Transfers has a new experience for small groups called the Public House Appreciation Tour (PHAT). https://www.sapphiretransfers.com/public-house-appreciatio/ It's an entertaining and informative circuit of the Atherton Tablelands and Cassowary Coast taking in a selection of great country pubs.

11.01.2022 Port Road blocked for hours due to head on collision between a shuttle bus and a hire car. Heavy rain no doubt contributed to the accident. We understand there were multiple injuries, but no fatalities. The road is going to be closed for hours while Police accident investigators do their job. This is an extreme example of the delays we always warn customers about on this road.

10.01.2022 If you have used Sapphire Transfers recently and would like to leave a review https://g.page/SapphireTransfersCairns?gm

06.01.2022 A private transfer means: You are driven directly from your pick up to your drop off location. You decide the pick up time You do not share the vehicle with other people Vehicles doing private transfers are usually luxury sedans or people movers... A shuttle is some sort bus that you pay for a seat in. It leaves at a set time and may stop several times on the route. It is cheaper for one person, but can often be slow and uncomfortable. Sapphire Transfers only offer private transfers. If you are travelling with three to six people in your group then a private transfer can actually be cheaper.

05.01.2022 Hire cars in Cairns as rare as hen's teeth which is driving visitors (pun sort of intentional) to booking transfers instead. A lot of hire car companies sold off excess fleet during COVID and are now having trouble replacing them. https://www.tropicnow.com.au//hire-car-shortage-as-visitor

04.01.2022 Cairns must transition to a more domestic-centric tourism model and the domestic market needs to think differently about destinations like Cairns. https://www.linkedin.com//when-dust-settles-future-touris/

04.01.2022 Our first tourism customers in over three months! This Sydney family contacted us via our new website sapphiretransfers.com to get them from Cairns Airport to beautiful Palm Cove. Some interstate flights are now coming into Cairns and we are slowly cranking up again. Thanks to Qld Govt for funding towards our new website.

02.01.2022 After a year in a 'business coma' March saw a tsunami of bookings that we were running to keep up with. It is looking like this March has been our best month in our three and a half years of operation. It should be noted that March is generally very low numbers, that the cheap airfares had not yet kicked in and it's not a school holiday month. April was looking set to eclipse March, but the Brisbane lock down might derail things. Crazy times.

01.01.2022 Sapphire Transfers successfully completed 'Operation Peak Baby' by transporting a total of 11 small children and babies in approved seats over the course of one day. We set a company record of four baby/booster seats in one vehicle. Thanks Penny for the pic.

01.01.2022 Transfers to Port Douglas and Palm Cove from Cairns Airport will be available to book as soon as the airlines open their bookings. One way transfer for up to 6 person group to Port Douglas is $130. Palm Cove is $80. Baby and booster seats are provided free with prior notice.
