24.01.2022 Update** donations of newspaper, animal food (wildlife, cat and dog), kitty litter and water bowls can be taken to Wagga Vet Hospital on Urana St, for distribut...ion to displaced animals when safe. Wagga show grounds have extensive cages for cats, small dogs and poultry as well as horse stalls and room for small ruminants. Please encourage anyone you know that may be affected by fire to evacuate to Wagga Showgrounds with their animals. They also require donations of water bowls and misting fans to keep animals cool. We have heard that an evacuation centre has been created at the EQUEX centre as well as the Wagga Showgrounds. Specific details we are not sure about. Donations/loans of cat crates, dog crates and kitty litter will be greatly accepted. The Equex centre on Copland Street HAVE PUT ON HOLD accepting these donations until logistics are sorted. Wagga Vet Hospital also has space available for dogs and cats for temporary boarding.
