24.01.2022 Don't forget, this Sunday is National Tree Day! As a little inspiration, one of our members shared a poem that she wrote recently about the gum trees she passes by on her walks. Thanks so much for sharing this with us Judy! What tree will you be planting this weekend? THE GUMS Trunks... Twist and turn Bend and stretch Towering gums Reaching high to greet sun and sky Peeling bark Reveals a smoothness underneath Irregular patterns A palette Rich with blues and greys Reds and browns Whites and greens Trails of scribble Remind that tiny caterpillars Do invade Before moths emerge to wing away While glistening droplets On fine silk chains Lead the eye To where the golden orb Attracts its prey Drooping leaves In branches high Varied hues against the sky And as I look Up into those tall, tall trees A sleepy Koala I’d love to see.
