25.01.2022 Man this has been breaking my heart all day. We lost a great kid who is a son of our dragbike community, heck he is a part of our community and won a Pro Et rac...e in one of the first few races he entered. This kid impressed the hell out of me. He was polite, good looking, humble and in my opinion ready to start kicking ass in our drag racing world. He was going to be riding a grudge bike next year owned by John Childrey Powerslave and mentored by the one of the biggest legends in our sport, Billy Vose. The sky was the limit with this kid. Louie Grist we love you and I am so sorry for your loss to you and your entire family. Life is not fair and this is living proof. God speed Cavan! See more

It gives Smith his 39th career qua...lifier and he will race Kelly Clontz in the first round of eliminations. Smith, who is second in points, is looking for his first win of the 2020 season after advancing to the final round at the first race of the PSM year, which took place last month in Indy. Eddie Krawiec took the second spot thanks to his 6.817 at 199.08, while Ryan Oehler, the current points leader and winner of the opening race of 2020, starts from third after going 6.840 at 197.71. The title is Locked up by Ryan Learmonth Now its the run between the only Aussie then to run a 6 - Luke Crowley and Kalifornia Katie from the USA with the lingering possibility of the first side by side 6 on Aussie soil - they don't disappoint with close finish with Katie running just into the 6's and Luke on a solid 7 zero! Runs like this are few and far between where a major milestone hangs in fractions of seconds. That's what I love about Dragracing, moments in time, brief moments but memorable.

11.01.2022 For Immediate Release Willowbank Raceway - New Year’s Thunder - Cancelled ... The continuing uncertainty around state border closures has caused Willowbank Raceway to re-evaluate the viability of conducting a 400 Championship round in January when we are unsure which interstate competitors will be allowed to attend the event. At this time, the Queensland borders remain closed to greater Sydney and Victoria, and together with the recent announcement around border closures to South Australia, and in turn, this has left WRI with no choice but to cancel the New Year’s Thunder event. Blair Conaghan, CEO of Willowbank Raceway stated The situation around the Covid-19 pandemic has created a large degree of uncertainty, which has been difficult for us all to plan around. While all endeavours have been made to plan and host the New Year’s Thunder event on the 9th of January 2021, the ongoing situation with state border closures has made that impossible. We therefore regrettably announce that this event will not proceed. We look forward to some improvement around these current restrictions and the resumption of the 400 Thunder Championship round at Willowbank Raceway on Good Friday at Easter. Blair continued. While we are unable to proceed with the scheduled 400 Thunder Championship round, we are working towards issuing a further release in the immediate future around the planning of an alternative high profile event involving Queensland based professional competitors. These racers are keen to put on a high quality exciting event for our fans on the 9th of January 2021. Stay tuned for this announcement. 06.01.2022 Just wanted to do a shout out about January 9 as I keep being asked and its no biggie - I'm not running and it doesnt matter. It will be a great event but I wanted to do this in the picture below otherwise its a different objective. I dont need the testing I just wanted to run Rabbs head to head cause that sounded good. I'm not sooking about running other brackets but I'd have a machine for the focus, not push my now-only-motor just to beat the other lane. BTW I think tho...se Extreme bikes are awesome and would throw a leg over for sure, but man who chases two rabbits catches none so I'll refocus on running Pro Bike in Sydney next. Still going to the meeting but as general runaround/ lacky/clutch cleaner/dunny cleaner - whatever! 04.01.2022 Special day today as I celebrate and remember Cheryl Tiller who left us on this day 20 years ago. Cheryl raced a bike aptly named "Vitamin F" during the 80s an...d 90s in a time when there was only 4 ladies competing on 2 wheels in Australia. She was competitive against the guys and was accepted by all in the pits. She was instrumental in the creation and running of the Northern Drag Racers Club (NDRC) in Townsville and was a driving force behind the (in)famous All Bike Meetings that saw some of the biggest and best social events in Nth Qld drag racing history. Cheryl was one of the first people to speak to me when I started in 1985 and she became a close friend quickly. Our relationship changed in 1993 when we became partners and we enjoyed some great times. We married on 28 August 1999. Sadly Cheryl was diagnosed with melanoma in 1997 and she battled valiantly until the options ran out and she passed away surrounded by family on this day. Cheryl was 46. She was a good woman and a good friend who will be remembered by many today. See more
