All too often these quick chats are actually formal meetings where workers are pressured to agree to roster changes, or begin a disciplinary process with no support or preparation. Remember: as a union member, you have the right to union representation.... 17.01.2022 The SDA have been campaigning for SDA retail members to receive an immediate pay rise, instead of waiting until 1 Feb 2021, as handed down by the Fairwork Commission. A 1 July pay rise has now been agreed for Woolworths Supermarkets and Big W members. The Fair Work Commissions 1.75% pay rise will be back paid to 1 July 2020. We are calling on all Companies to pay their essential workers the payrise now. 16.01.2022 BREAKING: The SDA has been campaigning for members to receive an immediate pay rise. A 1 July pay rise has now been agreed for Woolworths Supermarkets and Big W members. The Fair Work Commissions 1.75% pay rise will be back paid to 1 July 2020. The SDA and Woolworths had disagreed on the interpretation of the wording in the Agreements about when pay rises should apply. SDA members are essential workers the pandemic has proven this. ... Woolworths has now done the right thing by its team in bringing forward these pay increases to 1 July. This now means the SDA can withdraw its Federal Court proceedings. Thousands of SDA members supported our pay rise campaign. Thank you to SDA members, delegates for your strong support. It pays to be a member of the SDA. The SDA now calls on other large retailers to follow Woolworths lead on this issue and give their essential retail workers a pay rise immediately. After everything theyve done, the decision to delay their pay rise is just unfair. Essential workers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.... 09.01.2022 BREAKING: We've had a big win in the Fair Work Commission as part of our junior rates campaign. From February 1 2021, there will be no junior rates of pay in the Retail Award from Level 4 up. This is a fantastic outcome for thousands of young retail workers who will now earn the full adult rate of pay.

Female members (46%) were more likely to experience it than their male co-workers. Sexual harassment is not ok. Not ever. 05.01.2022 An employee (including a casual employee) is entitled to Compassionate Leave to spend time with a member of their immediate family or household who has sustained a life-threatening illness or injury or after their bereavement. In your Award or Agreement for permanent employees this is a separate paid leave entitlement and does not use accrued Personal or Annual Leave. An employee may take Compassionate Leave for each occassion. In most Agreements negotiated by the SDA, this... is usually above the minimum Award entitlement.
