11.01.2022 #BREAKING The SA Government has introduced new COVID-19 restrictions for the next six days starting at midnight tonight. South Australian Premier Steven Marshall says: "As of midnight tonight we need our state to pause for six days to stop the spread and keep South Australia safe and strong." ... SA Police Commissioner Grant Stevens says they are still working on the details but has urged all South Australians to stay at home unless you are accessing essential services. Masks will also be required in all areas outside the home. As of midnight these areas will shut down for a 6-day period: Schools Take away University Pub, restaurants and cafes Open inspections Outdoor sport FIFO Regional travel Aged care and disability Construction Industry Holiday homes Weddings and Funerals Premises that will remain open are: Supermarkets and petrol stations Medical and Mental health Airport Public Transport Post office Mining Child care will be open for essential workers Dr Nicola Spurrier says now is the time to be patient and be kind and help other South Australians to get through this.
