21.01.2022 In a time that seems all too distant from the current state of this world, Jaimie-Lee and Jordan reached out to me with an extraordinary idea. They were planning their dream island wedding in Koh Samui, and in what has now been realised as a masterful stroke, they would be taking 60 of their closest tribe along with them. Planning such a feat for a wedding, along with dodging both severe tropical storms and an impending worldwide pandemic, they pulled it off seamlessly in t...he most Boss-like manner that I’ve ever seen. Yet as I’ve come to know, that’s fairly typical of these two. They have a way of dreaming big, rolling with the punches, and doing things their way. The only thing more beautiful than the most stunning of locations, is the love that they have for their tribe and the love that their tribe has for them. I’m blessed to have witnessed it. Party on! And just before Christmas last year, I was lucky enough to join him again. This time, I was welcomed into his home to capture these moments with his amazing family. Jan and Ode have two of the most charming children you’d ever meet. 18.01.2022 PRO TIP: Rub-A-Dub-Dub, plenty of sledging in the tub! When you strip it all back, our role as Wedding Photographers is to be your storyteller. To tell all the parts of your wedding day story that is important to you, as well as documenting those smaller parts that make up the connection of you and your tribe. Sure, this one day is the culmination of hundreds of decisions over bridal gowns, flowers, menus and music playlists, but I can assure you without a shadow of doub...t - it’s these small moments that exist outside of the must haves that will fill your heart with reminiscence and bring that nostalgic smile. So I beg you, if you’re in the throws of planning your wedding right now, make certain you allow space in your day for these moments to happen. Embrace the freedom to peel back some of that rushed timeline. Give your day, and yourself, permission and time to breath. And talk to your photographer about this early in your planning, if they’re a genuine storyteller it will be music to their ears. They’ll also help you to make it happen. They will be as excited as you are, I promise.

16.01.2022 Peace. Stillness. Trust. Vulnerability. They’re all pretty wonderful things really. And in truth, they’re what our closest relationships need. Making time on your wedding day to just be present in each other, finding those moments of stillness and vulnerability amongst all the noise and excitement - I simply can’t recommend enough. For me, it’s one of my most favourite aspects to capture. Confetti bombs and high fives are brilliant, but don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate what you have in the quiet as well. 15.01.2022 Alex, 7yrs. Newly appointed Big Sister. Queen of her space. Upon arriving at Alex’s home to photograph her family, she was briefly shy and reserved, taking a slight subtle refuge behind her dad. It wasn’t long before I was hearing Alex’s imagination run wild whilst she made up here own story to her favourite picture book. I was introduced to her most senior ranking @sylvanianfamilies_official friends, and given a personal tour of her much revered sticker wall. But I was...n’t allowed to pack my camera away she said, until I had taken her portrait in her most favourite space. We can take our kids almost anywhere in this world, and there’s lots of shiny things with bells and whistles to grab their attention. So I consider it something quite grand when these humble spaces become their most favoured of all. That says a lot about how comfortable they are when they’re in that space. How it feeds their soul.
