16.01.2022 Sydney Water to pump more water out of Tallowa Dam. Under the Metropolitan Water Plan, pumping should cease when Tallowa Dam level reaches 80%. This operation can be suspended when Sydney's dam level reach 30%. As of 12Sep19 Sydney's dam levels are at 49%. The NSW Government has now suspended this requirement to allow unlimited pumping from Tallowa Dam. See Government Gazette at https://gazette.legislation.nsw.gov.au/so/download.w3p

12.01.2022 Shoalhaven Riverwatch was again delighted to host students from Shoalhaven High School to view our bank restoration work at the Nowra Golf Club. The excursion is part of the High School Certificate (HSC) Earth and Environmental Science subject, which is the study of the planet Earth, its processes and its environment.

09.01.2022 Giving back to the river for our children and grandchildren... Did you know Shoalhaven Riverwatch has put up 10kms of fencing, and planted 100,000 mangrove trees and 25,000 casuarina trees on the banks of the Shoalhaven to maintain the river for future generations. 06.01.2022 Shoalhaven Riverwatch was requested by the Sapphire Coast Wilderness Oyster Farmers to undertake river bank restoration work on the Yowaka River at Pambula. Sixteen members of Shoalhaven Riverwatch travelled to Pambula in May 2018 to construct 100 metres of sand sausage along eroded sections of the river which had been identified as an erosion hotspot by the local farmers. During the 4 days, Riverwatch volunteers were also taken on some side visits to view some local environmental projects
