Introducing our Training Scholarships in 2021, where you will take 4 styles of dance per week and study the Teachers Program with the Australian Teachers of Dancing ATOD under the direct mentorship of our Principal, who holds a Masters of Education in Dance and Drama. Star Fitness will open in our new studio space main st Picton . 2 studios will offer our Normal dance classes and fitness infused dance ( Areobic) classes will run along side of the dance classes . We will have a long run Creche and a espresso / Protein shakes bar for our members . We are very excited to finally start the renovation and be ready by Feb 2021 . 07.01.2022 Think I have a really long rant to have here . So I'm the owner and principal of Shooting stars dance Academy. I'm only a 18month old dance school . I cant say ...that the last year or so has been easy . I have a crazy home life with 4 kids and 2 with special needs . I struggle every day with my own mental issues . However I work really hard to make my Dance school a safe ,happy and enjoyable place for all my students and the parents that come with those students ..some of those parents are also my students and nothing fills my heart with joy more than those parents that support their childs passion for dance and then they find their own love for dance . We have kids with special needs that have been rejected from other dance schools , the other kids in the classes with the special needs kids are nothing but excepting and you will never see someone at my dance school being excluded for being different . It breaks my heart to think that in this day and age that this kind of dance to be the best mentality is still present within the dance studio industry . My own kids are soooooo difficult and I would hate to think that they couldn't do something they love because they couldn't be understood or given a chance . I have had parents not want to bother us with their childs difficult behaviour because they have been embarrassed or made to feel embarrassed in the past . I know how this feels as I have it happen to me daily ..however when you and your team are tolerant, trained and compassionate it makes all the difference . Difficult children are the best ..they keep you trying and challenging your teaching skills everyday . This is something I'm passionate about I guess ..so sick of hearing the stories of Dance to win and Bullying of students who are different , or even the bullying of parents who might speak up about the lack of care for their child . Anyway that's my rant ..dont get me wrong I dont wish my kids on anyone but if I'm paying for a service of education I expect a certain level acceptance , tolerance and nurturing. I do hope that is what I do in my business !! See more
