15.01.2022 At St John Paul II, children learnt to read and write independently for a variety of audiences and purposes within different subjects. The teachers use well-researched methods such as explicit instruction, shared and guided teaching to develop the ability in children to write creatively and powerfully. These approaches move the students from dependent to independent writers. This is Sebastian, our budding writer in Pre-primary. If your child is ready for kindy, call the school for an enrolment pack.

12.01.2022 As parents, we often put our needs aside as we focus on caring for, raising and supporting our children. For many, parenting during the COVID-19 pandemic has pr...esented a completely new set of challenges. Be realistic about what you can do at this time both at work, and as a parent. Be kind and forgiving to yourself if you cannot meet the usual expectations. This is not the usual situation. You are doing the best you can. For more resources on self care for parents during COVID-19, please visit: https://covid19.cewa.edu.au//self-care-for-parents-during/

12.01.2022 Today we played on Noongar land. We helped to care for each other, the animals, plants and land.

07.01.2022 St John Paul II Poem written by Seraphina Saweeris Year 4 This is school, the place where you learn, ... A place that also teaches you to be kind and take turns. There is health, religion, spelling and maths, There is also science, sport, music and dont forget HASS. There are many more subjects, each teaching you a different thing, And you never know, if you study hard enough you might nearly know everything! But a school wouldnt really be a school without teachers, All with different names and features. So get ready for a really really long list of names, Because were going down a long name lane. So theres Mr Lamb, Mr Cain, Mr Raftos, Mr Bigwood, Mr Maxwell, Mrs Phillips, Miss Alaga, Ms Tan, Miss Rutley, Miss Carbone, Mrs Grafton, Mrs Chamberlain, Mrs Murphy, Mrs Paraszczyn, Miss Whiteside, Mrs OBrien, Mrs Cannon, Miss Blackmore, Mrs Clune, Mrs Rossi, Miss Schofield, Mrs Deurloo, Ibu MacAdam and Miss Ferraro, Im sorry if I missed a few. But believe me, trying to remember all of the names is a hard thing to do! And as for the relief teachers I hope all of their hard work will one day pay off, And they will be able to work in the classroom as the real teacher and stay the whole day long (well not ALL day long)! So we are finally back with teachers nowPhew! Its time to talk about students now, but unfortunately that list is way too much for me to write down. I definitely think that I have an amazing class and school, And that everyone here is really cool. To all the Year 6 Leavers we will always remember you, And to all the new kids I hope you have a great time at SJPII too. And to all the people, including Mrs Davis too, who thought of building the school, That was definitely the best and right thing to do! Thank you Mr Lamb for keeping the school running and to all the other great people who help as well, I hope SJPII keeps going forever because Ill always be listening for that bell! See more

04.01.2022 Celebrate World Children's Day on the 20th November! World Children's Day offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for children. This year is extra special, marking the 30th anniversary of the 'Convention on the Rights of the Child'. A time to celebrate and a time to demand action for child rights. What will you do?
