25.01.2022 You know what I love? No matter your age or skill level, a self portrait will always capture a part of you. These young artists have used different techniques and mediums to explore self portraits over the last few weeks and Im just loving the results!

24.01.2022 The Mess to Success ratio was just right for our first art class this term! Shaving cream and food colouring. It seems like an unusual combo, but dont take my word for it - check out these beauties!

23.01.2022 Whaaaat?!?!? Check it out. I am so proud of these young artists! The last few weeks Ive spent a lot of time encouraging playing with colour. Its not about getting it wrong or right all the time. It can be hard experimenting and seeing what the paint will do. The accidents are sometimes the best parts. Then we can ask, "What does it look like? Where can I take this?" #proudmamma #kidsartclasses

23.01.2022 Playing more with colour. Lets see what happens! #whatdoyousee #watercolour #artclasses #adelaidehills

22.01.2022 What did you do on your catastrophic fire day? I finally spent some time getting some of my own drawing done! Its been a long time between sketches and it felt good to whip out the coloured pencils. Sometimes its hard to take time to be creative. You should see my house but something has to give. And the cleaning will still be there tomorrow!

22.01.2022 Mask Making and Monets!

22.01.2022 Drawing magic! In todays class the kids made dragons. They combined different animals then added layers of colour to bring them alive!

21.01.2022 Art can be made from so many things. Lego, sand castles, pencil shavings, up-cycled plastic bags... If you can imagine it, its probably been done! I love when two of my passions come together in one delicious, bowl licking, icing covered creation. Art and cake... it really cant go wrong. My little lady celebrated her 3rd birthday this weekend...she loved it.

21.01.2022 Its not too late! If your child is interested in after school art classes - get in touch now. An exciting term of creating ahead! www.sketchable-art.weebly.com #adelaidehills #afterschoolart #forkids

17.01.2022 Last terms young artists from Sketchable had their portraits exhibited in the Nora Heysen Junior Art Prize last weekend. It was special to see their artwork up for the public to see. So proud of all of them!

15.01.2022 More amazing dragon designs...

14.01.2022 Often we create in ways that are familiar and safe but every now and then its fun to change it up. Sometimes that means adding more, smaller, thoughtful details... or going bigger with brighter, bolder, colours. The kids are having a blast and I get to watch the magic happen!

14.01.2022 Here they are! Building on last weeks water colour... And then some bows. Because, why not?! #bowtiful #addingdimention

13.01.2022 Ever tried drawing without looking at your page? My gosh, its so much harder than it looks! Im always so tempted to sneak a peak! You should try it. It is such a great way to hone your observational skills. To look. Really look. Im so proud of these guys. In just one lesson I could see their observation skills improve - adding more detail, depth and perspective.

12.01.2022 Our young artists had so much fun this week. We learned a new printing technique and achieved some striking results.

12.01.2022 Profile | Jasmin Zecchin Jasmin is a trained teacher and illustrator. She loves singing, cooking (especially desserts), getting outdoors and perhaps swimming a lap or two when its warm enough. If she has a quiet moment to sit, she would probably pick up a good book. Shes often busy loving her two young children and hubby and doing the usual, work - life balance thing. Surprise, Jasmin also loves to draw and paint! Often shell sneak away to sketch a portrait for a client or... add splashes of colour to her latest artwork. Jasmin is passionate about teaching. She loves seeing the sparkle in students eyes when using materials they dont often get to play with. And discover, that they too can actually draw, shade, blend or create something theyre really proud of!

09.01.2022 Storm in a tea cup...or mug... or reusable coffee cup . Whatever floats your boat!

09.01.2022 Inspired by the lines and colours of Piet Mondrian... then we let loose and let the magic happen. Printing and painting, great way to spend an arvo.

06.01.2022 Ive been working on some illustrations these school holidays. Very much guitar themed! (My husband, a musician and writer, is lucky he knows someone who knows a thing or two about drawing). I love the craft of illustration. When a photo cant quite express the specific detail you need to communicate, an illustrator has the creative liberty to exclude or include just the parts that matter in their drawings. We get to play with the weight of a line, or splatter ink just in the right way to make the drawing sing! Love drawing. Love my job.

06.01.2022 Everyone, meet Theodore! He is the too-cute bunny of a young artist here at Sketchable. Theodore is now immortalised in the style of Eric Carle. Fun!

05.01.2022 Bright, bold and colourful! Check out these Eric Carle inspired works from art class this week! Its classes like these that remind me, it all comes back to the simplicity of shape, colour and imagination. #keepbeingcreative

05.01.2022 Christmas is coming!
