21.01.2022 Hey all our supporters and sponsors , its with a heavy heart that the Slag brothers are out of this wacky race! We have given it our best shot, we have ridden 2500km with 37 hrs on the bloody uncomfortable vespas seats, but due to underestimating the toll on the scoots and us we should have had a support vehicle for at least the Nullarbor section, when we arrived in Adelaide the massive task that we were asking from these well overloaded vespas and our selfs, we looked at a...ll options to get to Perth, Ute hire, train , even flying back from Adelaide and picking up a van and driving back to Adelaide, we have now decided to complete the km that we set out to do and are riding back to the Byron coast where we started from, we are both gutted but we hope you understand our situation, many thanks to everyone! 05.01.2022 Its a long way to Perth from the East Coast. Youre riding on your Vespa, have the drone of your engine in your ears and your thoughts are loud in your head. Theres a lot of time to think about things. If youre lucky you have a support team who you tell and they rally behind you, chivvy you along and let you know youre not alone - they are listening and hearing you. Sometimes though blokes dont open up to their mates and family to get this help. ... Its time for blokes to talk to each other. Share your thoughts and fears. Youre no less a man for doing so.
