24.01.2022 Great advice! ox

24.01.2022 One day your children will be all grown up and leave home... leaving you to create your own bliss and uninterrupted sleep!

22.01.2022 Daylight Savings starts this Sunday 6/10/19 yay! and we loose an hour on the clock....not good. This will not affect your baby's routine if they are newborns up to six months and in a flexible routine such as sleep/feed/play. Thank goodness... However if you have a baby or toddler over six months in a fixed routine they will wake 1 HOUR LATER in the morning....yep.... To adjust your child's routine to their usual time for sleeping, go with the flow on Sunday then as the days roll on, try putting them to bed just 10-15 minutes EARLIER each day for the next few days. By the end of the week you will have them going to sleep at their usual time. It usually takes about 10 days for the little ones body clock to adjust (and mine!...), so expect some unsettled or grumpy days for everyone and stick with your sleeping and settling plan. Don't have one? ring me 02 49634460. To help your little one go to bed and sleep when their brain wants to stay up and party , stick with your usual daily routine, eat well, play very well, ensure their bedroom is dark and surrounding rooms are not too bright. Happy Sleeping, Natalie zzzzzzzzzzzz

15.01.2022 How to cope with the end of daylight savings... Simple tips to help your baby over 6 months adjust. *Babies 0-6 months who have a flexible routine are not really affected by daylight savings as their routine is flexible.... *Babies 6 months and older in a fixed routine will wake 1 hour earlier than usual on the clock. *From Sunday morning, your baby will want to go to bed 1 hour earlier than usual. Try stretching them out 15 mins later for each sleep for the day and evening sleeps. *Each day continue to stretch their sleeps out by 15 mins so that after 4-5 days your baby's sleeps have returned to the normal time on the clock and baby is sleeping in to the right time as well. It takes me a couple of weeks to adjust to daylight savings, so be patient and it will happen for you and your child as well ox Happy Sleeping zzzzzzz 'Need a dose of me?' to boost your confidence, as a lovely client said recently... 15.01.2022 Are your toddlers snacking on more sugar than you thought? Often foods high in sugar also contain artificial colours, preservatives and flavours. I find myself talking about food more than sleep these days... In an effort to keep your family's diet clean and low in food chemicals that affect sleep for all of you. Below is a link to a list of popular snack foods that are promoted as healthy but actually contain more sugar than junk food. ... My recommendation is keep food real and simple. Involve the children in food prep and offer the widest variety of tastes and textures that are age appropriate. Remember as parents we are responsible for shaping the child's developing palettes, food choices and chemicals landing in our children's tummy's and brains.
